Marvin ( Act 2)

I'm really confused by why Marv is now deemed shit. At his best for us he's one of the best defenders I've ever seen play for us, like magnificent. His ability to slide and take the ball off the toes of a striker (cleanly) is thrilling, it's off the scale good, it's genuinely up there with a Bowler dribble or an Adam shot or whatever.

He's not always been perfect, but he's a wonderful player to have and with that sort of talent, you play them into form because dropping them is potentially wasting one of your biggest assets.

Yeah, if in two months he's still doing it every week, fine, but c'mon. It's big Marv. He's essential to us.

Marv is our best defender in years! You could go thru the entire team and pick out mistakes that ‘might’ have led to an attack and goal scoring opportunity. If Marv made no errors he’d have been snapped up by a top championship side. We are league 1 ffs. How many league 1 players do not make such mistakes? Very few if any. Give it a fukin rest you moaning gits.

Of course 'all' players make mistakes; no-one is infallible. But we're talking here of game-changing mistakes, not those that occur throughout the course of a game and which every player is guilty of committing at some point during the 90 minutes they are on the pitch. In other words, the problem being addressed here concerns the avoidance/prevention of unecessary fouls; those indescretions which can directly impact upon a game by contributing to the final score swinging one way or the other.

Apologies to those amongst you who seem so incapable of understanding such a complicated conundrum ...

You should have ended that post with

A supercilious git

Thought Marvin had a decent game. You could also blame Beesley for not winning enough in the air when we went longer or the midfield for not dragging their markers around more. The distribution from the other centre backs was also ropey on occasion. Yes Marvin made a mistake there when Norburn was available. Don’t remember Norburn dropping back that far at other times during the game and that could help ironically enough. When Marvin makes a mistake, which he will, there are also now 2 central defenders to cover.

I fully understand it 😂 Marvs errors have not led to goals. Others have. Don’t ask me who but they have. Marvs defending prevents goals every game. Factomundo for those that seem to want to have a go at him.

Marvin WAS a world-beater 2 years ago. There is now one significant difference ; two years ago Dick brought the ball out.

Correction, he isn't now being 'deemed shit'. He's been deemed as a player with a single major shortcoming which urgently needs addressing. Which I'm sure it will be.

I hope so to. Otherwise his already long suffering team mates will have to suffer for even longer.
