Mason Greenwood?

It should be the end of his football career imo.
I've seen the argument of 'he wasn't found guilty', but the evidence was pretty damning and I'm sure if the charges hadn't been dropped he would have been found guilty in a court of law.

A football club would be mad to employ him simply due to the safeguarding side of things, not to mention all the bad press and negative publicity it would attract.

Thought I’d seen a club in Italy were after him, as already said any club would be heading straight into a storm. Absolute scumbag

Ched Evan's & Benjamin Mendy - both accused and found not guilty in a court. Both found guilty at the time by the court of popular opinion - careers ruined for a number of years.

Mason hasnt been found guilty of any offence.

Because the woman who made the allegations and made the evidence public dropped the charges, not because he was found innocent.

Apparently she has since got back with him and had a child with him, it's possible she's still in a controlling relationship and that's why she dropped the charges.

Amazing in this day and age you can have the court of public opinion finding you guilty and ending your career.

Well it's not really, but it's still shit.

I suppose it’s the next logical step to have a child with someone who attempted to rape you.

Also add Bez Lubala onto the above list....

Possible shes in a controlling relationship? It's possible yes - have I or you got any evidence - nope!

I agree on what evidence thats in the public domain he appears to be an absolute scumbag. Is there two sides to the story though? Is that why hes not been found guilty? We'll probably never know. Pitchfork mentality has seen many a person hounded though

I hope he ends up at a very top club and resumes his career. Man U are cowards for surrendering to the current hysteria they should have told the likes of Riley to foxtrot oscar. He has beem hounded out by a baying mob which is a disgrace in and of itself.

Greenwood's then fiance made the whole thing up she fabricated it as made clear in the club statement she's the one that should have prosecuted. The world's gone bloody mad.

Everton should sign him and close down the runaway narrative and so quick to judge brigade who don’t know all the facts. If not then Roma would be good for him or Saudi Arabia (cue stereotyping Arab comments.)

He will almost certainly be off abroad , the Saudi Arabians might not be too worried about his alleged priors !

Well we are short of striker options.
Gary Madine had a stint in prison for GBH, Goodwillie played here and
we employed someone convicted of a drink drive death, so who would take him on the basis anything he did that dragged the club in disrepute would be instant sackable offence.
He is 21 has made a massive mistake but should he never be employed again in the one career of his choosing?

Absolute scum bag. I'm sure he will get a club somewhere abroad but for me I wouldn't p*ss on him if he was on fire.
Think Gaz no goals was convicted twice of GBH when younger.
Quite a few would happily resign him as we all believe he has changed from the scumbag he was. He has been allowed to rebuild his career as have quite a few others. Someone will be getting a very good player on a free, and I would not be against signing him with strict undertakings.

Rachel Riley sealed his fate by refusing to support United in the future if they allowed him to play again 😳
It had nothing to do with with that jumped up facist, has anyone read the club and police statements? Greenwood is guilty of nothing, dear God there's some self righteous prigs on this thread and subject.

It'll be some italian club. They usually don't give a flying fuck about this sort of thing.

Personally wouldn't see a problem with him going to another EPL club or even staying at United but hey ho, it is what it is.

Innocent until proven guilty for me. Noone knows the full story, although many would suggest that they do.

Might be that he isn't a nice bloke and you wouldn't want him going out with your daughter but as it stands he isn't a convicted criminal. Every occupation under the sun employs people like this but in football its more high profile.
I haven't really followed the story but the only people that truly know what went on are him and the woman involved, maybe they're both flawed characters who have had to deal with his huge wealth and adoration at a young age and not been very well equipped to deal with it.
Not everybody is as grounded as Harry Kane and his missus, no excuse for domestic violence but lot of us might have had some issues with huge wealth and fame before we were 21. So give him a 2nd chance and it's probably better for him that he does it away from Manchester and has a complete fresh start.

Do understand how the charging and prosecution process works?

The case was dropped because the evidence was so f***ing weak that there was no "realistic prospect" of him being found guilty in a court of law.

He'll go abroad, I doubt any club in England will be willing to piss off thei fan base by signing him. Plus, he will be targeted every game, it's a disaster waiting to happen if he's in England. Can see him going to La Liga or Serie A. Doubt German fans would be too happy with him either.

He hasn’t been convicted of anything. But it’s not as simple as that.

Leaving aside the considerable moral arguments, if United took him back it would be a major distraction.
The spotlight would be on them and Greenwood for years, he’d be targeted by opposition fans, and press conferences would be dominated by questions about how United could justify the decision to reinstate him.
And it would be a poor examplar of good order and discipline within the club.

In his statement Greenwood talks of his intention to be a better person.
But he’s been with United since he was 7 – 14 years – so they have had prolonged involvement in his personal development.
They must bear some degree of responsibility for indulging his previous transgressions (and by all accounts, there've been plenty of those over the years), not disciplining him sufficiently, and ultimately for him being the man that he became.

For him and United, a parting of the ways and a career overseas for Greenwood is the best outcome.
But he’s got to truly change as a person, or there’ll be more torrid headlines sometime in the future.

There was a lack of evidence as his girlfriend refused to give a statement and apparently said she would testify on his behalf as she's young and in love. The fact that she's is just about to have his child and seems all happy and in love also dampens the case. If you listen to the audio and look at the pictures, you can see he's a scumbag. I don't get anyone defending him. If he was at this club, I'd want him gone as well even if he was the greatest player to ever play for us.

Have you not seen the pictures or listened to the harrowing audio of the incident? Jesus wept

The baby has already been born.

Have guilty men not been found innocent in a court of law before? Let alone a poxy investigation that set out to protect their investment in the first place.
I’m sure many guilty men have walked away from crimes involving sexual assault based on lack of evidence.
So Man Utd are trying to portray him as innocent for some financial gain?

This dropping charges is a bit of a myth. If someone comes up to me in the street and stabs me repeatedly and I survive then tell the police I don't want charges pressing, do you think they would?

United were trying to get him back playing for them and have only buckled after alot of pressure. They still are trying to prove that they were right to take this long to make a decision as well. Its all a face saving exercise that is backfiring on them yet again.

The amount of men on here defending him has knocked me sick. All of you defending this piece of shit are the reason I worry about my daughter growing up. Rapist and abuse apologists the lot of you. You should all be ashamed, it's not like the evidence isn't out there for everyone to see.
Do you believe people accused or rape, murder or child abuse deserve a defence in court?

When the evidence of him is out there for everyone to see then I don't understand why anyone would defend him unless they have a vested interest in him or are just like him in real life. A lawyer would have a vested interest due to money. The odd balls on here defending him are either like him so see no wrong in what he's done or are living in the dark ages, still thinking that women who get raped and abused have done something to deserve it. I mean there's literally a recording of him trying to rape her. Its sick

He's clearly been offered around to clubs. Man Utd wouldn't sack him due to the transfer market. They know pre this stuff he's got a value of £30million. He's not been sacked but I expect a transfer non disclosed to be announced before the transfer window. Morally its repulsive to keep him in football at or away from Manchester. There's enough smoke to say there's some guilt but obviously not enough for a conviction which is a shame for the victim.
