McCarthy is one of the worse managers in our history

I have no idea what formation we were playing in the first half. at one point Lyons seemed to be centre forward with jerry as a wing back, was it a back three, four or five.

i dont honestly think the players today played that badly. the carshitter's strike was a very good one, and out of nowhere really. the free kick that really shouldnt have been was well taken but we seemed caught off guard.

didnt see the third goal cos TTV went down at half time break and didnt come on again util i rebooted (** annoying it does that every time now)

Mcarthey just doesnt seem to know how to out out eleven players who can play together, even more so than appleton, he actually makes appleton look like a tactical genius, and a rabid beaver would make a better coach than appleton

Lets face it... Nobody would have chosen either of them to be our Manager and as ** terrible as Appleton was (and he was ** awful) had we been faced with the choice of him staying or Mick McCarthy being appointed, then most of us would have stuck with Appleton... Not because he was any good, but simply because McCarthy and our Squad is probably the biggest mismatch in the history of football ever...

He was a total mistake and we all knew it.

I was going to start a thread at the end of the game, but the buck stops with Sadler. It's as simple as that. We got rid of the vermin after all these years of mishandling of the club and nearly destroying it. Supporter power and VB managed to get rid of them and we were all rightly elated, we were back, the bad days were over, we had a supporter willing to invest and buy the club, it was perfect. But being a supporter and buying the club and pumping some of his own money into he club to bring it up to the standard it should be, which any new oner would know they had to do, doesn't make you a great football club owner. In my mind he hasn't got what it takes, it's a shame because we are probably stuck with him now so he has to sit down and think how is he going to turn this around.

They have made error after error after error for 18 months and they were all avoidable, we should have had Evo or Rosenior or Edwards as our manager not Appleton and MM, they should have got signings over the line instead of failing miserably and now we are staring League 1 in the face with a squad that will mainly disappear in the summer and no manager. As it stands I have absolutely no faith in him recovering this but he has to because if it continues like it has we will be in League 2 before we know it and we deserve so much more than that.
I know you have a complete downer on Sadler (and Dougall and McCarthy and, etc, etc, etc) but we might have performed even worse under Evatt, Rosenior or whoever. We just don't know.
Having said that I completely agree with you that Sadler has got a lot wrong but where I start to diverge with you I'm 100% certain Simon knows that and will be trying his best to change it.
Of course he'll continually be hamstrung by lack of money.
On the Manager front I wouldn't have appointed Grayson, Appleton or McCarthy and have never said anything different in all cases before they even managed their first game BUT I could see some of the logic over the appointment of Grayson and McCarthy.
I couldn't understand Appleton's appointment and I'd never heard of Critch.
So I think Sadler is still very much learning how to be a football club owner and deserves that you cut him a little bit more slack.
The next Managerial appointment can't be another mistake though.

The most frustrating thing was watching us aimlessly hoof it up for almost the entire first half.
Don’t get me wrong, it this was an ‘industrial’ way of keeping us up then i’d be onboard.

Fact is this is a team thats at its best when actually playing football. They cant defend for long periods without conceeding and even with Madine the hoofball just didnt work and doesnt suit us.

So why the hell is he still trying it???

Like any Yorkshireman he picks who he likes and he likes who he picks. Except no one else does and it's causing a disastrous flop into league one.

Take McCarthorse outback put the screens up and call for the vet. Put us out of our misery.

Yep all on the manager again

As soon as you saw the team it was obvious

Second half shows what we could do by playing the creative players

Poveda and Patino were quality but it was all too late

Sack him now
No not all on the manager
The available team are nor good enough to stay in the championship end of
Poor recruitment and contracts awarded like confetti last season.
No fan of big Mick but he will be a better after dinner speaker than manager

Hang on, you were claiming he's an international class manager with over a 1000 games.

Backtracking contrary mary from what many on here were saying about him a long time ago.

Because that is all McCarthy knows.

Absolutely shocking team selection and tactics again

Awful Awful manager appointment

Too negative with tactics that belong in the 1980s

The bloke is clueless and isn't giving us a chance

Fuck off now get out of our club..
Is there any possibility you could stop swearing at us individually and collectively as if you can’t do what your own words say please and give us all some respite and sanity

Looks like they picked the wrong 🦕. Warnock would have been a better fit for our squad. Good win for Hudders today ☹️

To be fair Preston had a day where their finishing was clinical. The stats were that their strike rate was at 33% today against of a normal 9% .We had slightly more of the game especially in the second half but not the clinical finishing.Indeed by far the easiest chance of the game fell to Yates and he did his very best to clumsily miss it.

Wasn’t only Phil saying it.
It was kind of obvious to most, except the Board.
If MM is in charge of training on Monday, they might as well relegate us now and save us the anguish.
