Meanwhile in Derby..

A number of clubs will be delighted only two relegation places left. The likes of the Knobbers will be breathing a huge sigh of relief, especially if Reading are deducted points as that puts them right in amongst it.

Not great for their fans but they'll have to take this and probably relegation on the chin. I also feel sorry for Wycombe who have been shafted and are the real loser in all of this.
Perhaps they can give Wycombe the points back 😬

Wycombe benefited big time the season before when Covid cut short the season as they were outside the Play Offs and plummeting at the time so they had luck with rules going in their favour just prior to that. Swings and roundabouts.

I wouldn't disagree but the 2 situations are completely different, one was a global pandemic out of the hands of all clubs, the 2nd is a club spending way more than they should and also delayed like hell to avoid relegation last season. I get your point in a more generic karma to Wycombe's position. 😁

The stupid thing about the EFL FFP rules is that if they had been promoted to the EPL then Derby would have not had any sanctions applied as the EPL do not follow the EFL rules. Villa, who both beat Derby in the 2019 play-offs, were in breach of FFP when they were promoted.

Fair play to Derby fans though - their average this season is 19,500 - bet that'll soar to over 20,000 in League One. Not had a promotion for years and I reckon they'll think they'll walk it (of course whether they do or not is a different matter!).
