Measured Progress

i had a wonderful reflection yesterday at full time, looking out at a packed Bloomfield Road, bouncing and cheering the players off the pitch, having won a local derby and sitting mid table in the championship. It really wasn’t that long ago we found ourselves in the unpalatable position of league two, being run recklessly, unable to attend games due to the toxic situation. Crowds were at an all time low and the future seemed hopeless.
We now have a passionate, driven and incredibly focused owner who’s brought pride and belief back into our club. The appointment of a manager that is simply perfect for what we need and are about. I love Neil’s passion and organic connection with the fans, conveying wonderful sincerity and joint excitement. He’s got us playing attractive attacking football with a group of incredibly talented players and depth of squad we could have only dreamt about.
The stadium looks transformed with some care and attention, making us feel proud once again. The pitch is finally a surface we all hoped for that gives the team the perfect platform to express their capabilities and potential . The future full of transformational ideas and growth in the form of new training facilities and stadium expansion.
Looking back to when I chose to boycott, it tore me to shreds not to be where the ashes of my parents have been scattered. Not to be part of the club and see my team play. I felt so lost and felt things would take too long to reconcile, it was close to impossible to comprehend and process.
What a wonderful feeling I have now , it’s like an incredible dream to be where we are. I am enjoying every single second and recognising we have our glorious club back. The struggles and battles we all had are now behind us and thanks to our fantastic owner , manager, team and most notably our unique partisan , resilient fan base , we have what we deserve and it feels utterly amazing!

We can relate to that, well said👍

Wonderful post and as the first reply states, something that we can all relate to.

I think that years of suffering that we endured to the latter point of the Oystain regime has made us a more resiliant and passionate fanbase.

Loving every minute of it at the moment.

UTMP!

Well said mate - so much to be grateful for. In all my time watching Blackpool I have never felt so positive in it’s direction of travel. What is also reassuring is that progress is sensible and not leaving the club vulnerable to future economic madness aka Derby, Sheffield Wed, Wigan, Sunderland, Bury and the list sadly goes on……..

Well said, and what an atmosphere; and no doubt even the 🍄🍄🍄 appreciate the return of the the fans and the end of NAPM. The place must have been soulless 🖤

My brothers ashes were scattered at the ground years ago (he died very young) and there is a real comfort every time I go in the ground. Someone said they aren't allowed to do it anymore?
