Memories of Hudders at home

That was a tasty day in the South Paddock. Barely watched the game as it all kicked off around us.

The opening day of the new stands was against Huddersfield. We went one up with Ian Marshall, then the midget Leon Knight out jumped everyone to score with a header. Lost 2 1.

He outjumped that excuse for a footballer, John O'kane.

Anyone remember the 1-4 home defeat on the opening day of the season when Iwan Roberts and Andy Booth (was it?) ran riot? Lively day in the South as well, recall loads of theirs in the seats and the South Paddock getting a 'ticking off' as it were.
1st game for the eldest wizzling.
Told him if he was a good lad that gorilla mascot we used to have would start giving out sweets at half time.
Ref had to take teams off when it kicked off and lad asked if he was going to get any sweets!! Had to say it wasn't half time and some of the crowd were being naughty 🤣🤣👍🏻

yeah remember it. Was that Phil Horners and Chris Hedworhs home debuts. Also thought their centre forward was Jepson or Jemson who physically bullied Horner all over the place.

“We are taking back the club.”Text sent to Koko’s phone by a legendary fan as the clown sat watching the pitch invasion unfold before his piggy eyes.👍

Jepson. Was assistant at a few clubs we've played against and used to give him grief from the West Paddock.

Nigel Jemson played for Forest. Scored the winner in the 1990 League Cup Final.

Is that the season where the HTFC fans put their shirts on inside out as it looked close enough to our away shirt to get away with it?

Oooh Phil Orner and Hedworth were signed by Graham Carr season 1990/91,that 1-4 defeat was Tony Ellis debut I think.

cheers I'm getting mixed up a bit, as it certainly wasn't Horners debut as you rightly point out. Still think he played in that 4-1 defeat though and got bullied by Jepson. Can you confirm?

Phil Horner & Briggsy I would say the centre backs that day 20togo.
Briggsy’s penultimate game that day I think - he got sent off the following midweek for elbowing a very young Kevin Davies & don’t thing play Ed again for us.
Phil Horner didn’t last too much longer after - Big Sam signed a load of centre backs not long after ?

Arrived late and we could not get in the South, had to go in the scratchers, load of Hudds in there as well

Yeah I remember that

Loads of them spilled onto the pitch at the Kop end and climbed in the East. They had fans everywhere that day. There was a load in the South Stand IIRC

They were in the West Paddock too. Remember Warnock telling them to calm down before the game started as it was kicking off. Also remember two Pool fans legging it from the West to pile into the ones who had been kicked out of the South.

I know who one of those is. Caught up with a Huddersfield lad in the centre circle 🤣

Walking back to my car from the abandoned game and I'd parked under a tree and never had so much bird crap in my car!

For all that we sounded awful tonight, Huddersfield must really hate us.

2014 pitch invasion
2022 incorrect goalline technology
2023 (part 1) on the way over the hills and game called off
2023 (part 2) lead 1-0 and 2-1 against 10 and can’t get the job done

You think we are struggling, that equaliser will have been a huge kick in the nads for them.
