Aaahhh... that would be a gullible junior civil servant who has been told to make out the purchase order by the PPS (ambitious Tory MP) to the relevant minister who fast-tracked his mates in the first place. That’s the way these corrupt people hide behind the system. No full paper trail. Plausible deniability. As shown by Gove when he was asked why he fast-tracked Mone’s company.

Spot on. Why would Gove have any knowledge of the detail? After all he's only the person who was in charge and, you would hope, accountable? Rotten to the core, the lot of them.

Well its clear Hancock knew and rejected Mone's approaches. If civil servants advising Gove did not red flag it then there has been some serious problems. I don't believe for one moment Gove did not know.
 
No extradition treaty in Honduras. Coincidence she's gone there, put her house and yacht up for sale for £30 million.

All the actions of someone trying to clear their name, with nothing to see.
 
Utter scum. When Labour get in, they should hunt these parasites down - get the treaty signed with Honduras quietly and get her arrested. Seize everything she has and put it back into the treasury.

Well we didn’t want to be absorbed. We’re not soap suds. We wanted to be entertained. The first 80 minutes was like watching a one sided argument (see most Welsh Phil posts).

But I’m happy to concede that things perked up a bit towards the end of normal time and I bounced up and down on the sofa a couple of times.

Anyways at the moment I’m still enjoying a French loss. Whilst trying not to think about the Argentinian victory.

She is holding a fire sale of UK based assets )which the government can confiscate) and seemingly planning a new life in Honduras which has no extradition treaty with the UK. She is doing it in plain site and should be stopped (assets frozen, passport confiscated) , where is the home secretary when you need her?

This is a can of worms for the government, if Mone gets prosecuted other contracts may be scrutinised.
According to PE, Hancock's family firm benefitted as did Zahawi's (who set a new company to trade in PPE) and of course Matt's pub landlord. That is what we know about, I am sure there are plenty of other stories to come out.
This is a real national scandal and should be front page news every day.

Labour stated that if elected this will be fully investigated. If they aren't there is no doubt it won't be.

Potentially the biggest ever Government scandal of all time this. But no doubt money is being dispersed, evidence destroyed and Whatsapp threads being deleted.
 
The government says along with the £122m contract, it has so far spent £6.9m on storage costs for the kit and each week it costs over £61,000 to store the gowns. It estimates the cost to dispose the gowns would be £4.7m.
Why are they spending money storing useless equipment? I sincerely hope that whoever has that contract is not another government donor/crony. And why will it cost £4.7m to destroy it. I trust there will be complete transparency in the awarding of that contract.

I wouldn't go as far to say that you supported the Government during the pandemic but I think it's fair to say that you were generally in favour of their lockdown policy.

Like your good self, I'm not one to say that I told you so, but I think it's fair to say that I spent more time questioning the Government's lockdown policy and their procurement procedures during the pandemic than all of the AVFTT lefties put together.

Apologies for moving a little off topic folks but the only place for Mone - if investigations find her guilty of the accusations against her - is the jail.

I share the cynicism - should that be realism ? - of many others on the thread but I can't seeing it happening

Spot on S2020. Plenty were involved in driving the hysteria which caused the usual checks and balances to be overlooked. Money wasn't an object at the time for so many.

Masks don't work and make people look like toddlers doing dress up anyway. Hancock has said in his book, they were only brought in because Cummings liked the 'signal' that they sent out. They were only brought in for English school pupils because the govt were worried Sturgeon had stolen a march. Most 'measures' failed even on their own terms.

File under a money spunking, mass hysteria clusterfuck. Unless someone wants to draw me a graph proving otherwise? 👀
 
The independent investigation into the whole of the pandemic saga will throw up all sorts of corrupt shenanigans unfortunately it will be years before the report hits the public domain!

As for the Mone issue and the government suing her, this is all being done to take the heat off Gove et al, so he doesn’t have to answer anything whilst it’s happening. It won’t make it to court and it’ll just disappear.

Mad really that during a ‘pandemic’ they were all plotting how to make as much money as they could and having a few parties, whilst telling Joe Public to stay at home to protect the NHS, whilst they are now letting it crumble.

You have to laugh I think.
