Mick McCarthys Tangerine Army !!

I liked the way Mick McCarthy spoke after we played Wolves away in our first season back in The Championship. We were one up at a boiling hot Molineux with only 5 minutes to go, but Wolves beat us 2-1. In his post match comments, he basically said that Pool totally deserved the three points and couldn't believe their smash and grab win. Mick'll do for me.

I've listened to his interview. Unlike the previous incumbent, it was all about US, both team and fans. He really seems up for it, and can hopefully transfer that sense of certainty to the players.

It's completely different to every Appleton interview I heard and watched, where the optimism was literally drained from me the longer it went on. It was Colin the energy vampire from what we do in the shadows.

It was brilliant. I've had a complete 180 in my response since yesterday. It's a risk, but it's giving it a go and not planning for a new critch to rebuild in leage 1 and that, I think is probably on balance of everything, the best possible outcome as it shows the board are not just concerned with creating a player farm but will chuck a purported ideology out and act on the circumstance, which ultimately, you have to do sometimes.

If just does the obvious thing of starting with as many of our best players as possible in their best positions then he will be a massive improvement.

The Mansford interview in the Gazette also says he sees it as our best chance of remaining in the Division, so at least we are assured there's no intent around taking a relegation and consolidation...

What a turnaround, from a dour hope sapping miserable looking coach, to a happy smiling, know what I'm talking about, man at the helm. I feel positive already due solely to his first interview, there will be bumps on the way obviously, but I now have every confidence in our remaining in the Championship, there are far worse teams than us.
