Millwall v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 17.09.22

Some ridiculous posts on here again as you come to expect when we lose. We’re a work in progress with a young side who have a number of injuries. Against Rotherham we were woeful but today, there were periods when we played well, with some excellent passing. The build up play to the goal was excellent. There were other periods when we were poor, but I saw signs today which showed me that the team have a lot of potential - we need to give the manager and team time. Unfortunately, some fans can’t/won’t do that! Thank god some of you negative fuckers aren’t in charge of the club.
For the first time ever I count as one of your negative fuckers. I'm just not seeing what Appleton brings to the party.

Today was shocking. One or two good moments against a very poor team. There is no point in being positive for the sake of being positive. The tactics and performances these last two games have been a disgrace.

I am not usually negative but I agree with this. It feels as though the managers lack of confidence is also having an affect on the players. His lack of personality comment was classic projection from a man who knows isn't inspiring this squad at the moment.

I think it’s simpler than that. Just play a formation that allows the players to express themselves and support the strikers. The players have looked desperate, lost and generally frustrated. I just don’t why you wouldn’t have a go? I mean 5-4-1 or 5-2-3 whatever you want to call it, what the fuck is that? Throw Connolly at right wing back and the confused gets even more confusing.

Yep plenty of bollocks typed ton8ght !

The performance wasn’t brilliant but neither were Millwall

We just didn’t do enough

We have some decent players. The manager's job is to get the set up right for each game, motivate and inspire confidence. Jury's out at the mo. Don't think that's negative. For me - make Connolly captain - he's got the grit and the work ethic. Play 442 with the talented kids in midfield with CC, Jezzer and Theo up top.

I like that Connolly captain thing. I think he'd rally everyone.

I'm going to get slaughtered for this but I am probably the only Blackpool supporter who was totally underwhelmed when Sadler bought the club. I didn't think he had thought it through and didn't really have the financial clout behind him to progress the club on and off the field. Anyone was going to be better that the cretins we had owning the club previously and whilst I applaud his efforts and financial input I just don't think he is getting what he thought he might out of it. I think we needed someone who was football orientated, someone who hadn't been a supporter from a young age. Someone who had lots of money to be able to put us in the Championship and allow us to compete financially.

If Sadler can't compete financially and we only really have a decent league 1 budget then we need to know, because we will never push on if we yo yo between the 2 leagues and we also kana how difficult it is to get out of League one once you are in it.

I [robably sound ungrateful, I'm not, it is much better off the field but there are some glaring mistakes being made, particularly around the hiring of managers and then the budget for players.

Something has been wrong since January this year, I can't say what it is, but there is something. This is Blackpool FC nothing ever goes how you want it, but I get the feeling that a bad next few weeks will see us manageress and floundering to find a manager that is any use.

I'm off to sit in my fallout shelter!!
No you arent alone, I got accused of being a nobber for saying something similar.
