Millwall v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 17.09.22

Can’t see anything other than another poor performance and a heavy defeat looming.

Let’s hope I’am wrong.

Just how the hell can Wright be injured? He was only on the field a few minutes. 🤬

Need some changes in the starting 11 but I’am not convinced Appleton will make them.

It surely can't be any worse than Rotherham.

I just hope we show some spirit - it was certainly lacking on Wednesday

Im letting go of all and any expectations. A Buddhist approach. After travelling to Rotherham the other day I can't be expectant with this trip 🙌

I want to see a good performance today - there hasn't been one so far this season.

I'm not particularly bothered if we win lose or draw I just want to see some decent football and progress.

433 all out attack 3-2 to the mighty. Poveda scores one and two assists, Jerry with a diving header and CJ on for a late cameo bangs one in the top corner. That was the dream last night.

Not looking like a great line up. Let’s see what happens here.
Why five at the back ? Connolly could have made a midfield 3 surely.

5 at the back again! Not sure about it, if it works, great but the reaction on here if we lose is going to be relentless.

I would have preferred 433 and I am surprised Gabriel has been dropped not Thompson. Let’s see how it goes.

He's lefg out the defenders that don't defend well enough. Make a some sense. No idea what the formation is though and we need midfielders fit asap. Short of players. Bring on the international break. Need to recover and regroup.

It could 4-4-2 with Thompson and Corbeanu out wide and Jerry and Shayne up front.
Of course it could also be any number of different combinations.

Millwall are going through a bad run losing 4 of the last 5 and Rowatt is coming under pressure. If we go there with a negative formation and attitude we will be asking for trouble. I would go 4-3-3 with Big Marv and Thorniley in the centre. Dougall, Carey and Patino in the midfield. There is a case for Connolly ahead of Dougall but we really need the two young lads to get on the ball and start passing the ball. Poveda, Corbeanu and Yates up front with Lavery another option through the middle. I would take a scrappy draw but not confident. Millwall have Callum Stiles from Barnsley a player we should have been in looking at.

I thought the same when I saw the Huddersfield line up 2 weeks ago. Thomson is definitely an emergency attacking left sided option in a midfield of four with either husband or thornily behind him. But alas. I see this as another 5 at the back whilst we get dominated in the middle again. But here’s hoping not……

Just seen the line up and even less confident now. That looks like a back five with Connolly at right back? Good to see Husband back but mystified with Gabriel being left out.

I though Poveda played well tother night, all his passes that went astray were good if the recipient hadn’t moved. He’s on a different wavelength and dropping Gabriel and not Thompson is bizarre. But here’s hoping
I guess dropping two of his buys in defence wouldn’t look good so a Critch defender had to go with Williams

It make more "a some sense" than that gobbledegook voy !!

could be 3-5-2, could be 4-4-2 with thomson or hubby in midfield even 5-4-1. could even be an old fashioned 2 -3-5.
