MK Dons v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 09.03.21

Let’s see how it goes, before we hang the manager. Last 2 games we have been dominated in midfield by the opposition so something needed changing.
I know I said play 4-4-2 earlier but thinking of the last 2 games it didn’t work in terms of performance and results.

Where’s the all out attack in tonight’s team ?
Lose tonight and I’m feeling it’s season over.

Being a school night, my two little ones will be in bed well before the match has finished ,... please, please, please don’t let me have to tell them we didn’t win again whilst having breakfast !

How has Mitchell been taken out of the team for Kaikai when alot of fans had him motm at the weekend? Really beginning to feel like Critchley just doesn't rate him at all. I hope this works tonight.

Gabriel, Hamilton, Dougall and Simms should all be starting.

I can’t see any logic to that starting 11 and how it will help us go and win. I hope I’m wrong, but if NC has got this wrong, he will deserve all the criticism he gets.
Totally agree with this and I fear the worst...why oh why have we changed things about so much since beating Portsmouth and Charlton...its almost like he is playing a computer game

I only said "Fuck" twice when reading that line-up. It's not attacking enough for me. I would have had Gabriel for Turton, and Mitchell for Kaikai.

Leaving CJ and Simms to come on as impact subs is worth trying.

We can still win this. Come on you Pool.

Not sure what Gabriel and Dougall have done wrong here. Do they have knocks?

Bit of a strange line up at the back.

I think Critch is trying three behind Yates with Kai Kai, Embleton and Ward. I’m sure we played that once already somewhere and it was just as toothless as the rest.

Is he trying to always play the most physically small side in the league ? Other than Ballard we have no physicality whatsoever !! 😞. Set piece fun and games again.....

That’s rubbish, at this stage of the season we should be playing our best 11 and going for it. I support NC, but I cannot understand his constant changing. How can we create any consistency or fluidity?

I’m afraid he brings the criticism on himself sometimes.
I absolutely agree with that I try to support him but he keeps changing thing every game . It leads me to wonder does he know his best team or formation

I've only been on here for a while but football is about opinions and it seems with some on here no questions should be asked just follow the team etc, but how can we get any fluidity when we chop and change constantly, we need a settled first 11 injuries permitting. Tops teams in any division make the opposition worry about them, we worry about everyone else, Wimbledon looked great against us, how can that be right.

On first read I’m thinking what the feck is that line up about???

I thought we might revert to Ward on the right K n K in the centre and KaiKai left. Usual 2 up top.

Not convinced but then I liked the line up on Sat and that went wrong.....

It seems we adapt to every other teams formations, won't argue with the NC but I do wish we would not get so wrapped up in the opposition, would be great if we let the other team worry about us. But proof will be in the pudding.

BUT we have a great bench!
as ive said many times before on here MAKE THEM ADAPT TO US

Nazzers stupid comment wasn’t even worth the effort of a reply.

I was the same thought Saturday’s line up would be class. Turned out to be a turd.

I keep saying Critch needs to try new things out so I can’t be too critical. Wonder if Embleton behind Yates might be something to spark the attack.

It’s a line up based more on technique I guess and playing through the thirds?

Bench is direct and plain plan B (pace, big man etc)

The Tinker Man strikes again

Although I think me have plenty of skill and guile in that team

I was quite confident.
Seeing that line up (4-3-3 again 🤬), Yates on his own, and the bench looks stronger than the 1st choice.
FFS
🤦‍♂️

It's not all about the system, it is actually more about players. Maybe the players never worked out not the system, maybe a system has to be given a chance to work by playing it a bit more. NC has brilliant coaching credentials and we all want it to work out for him, but for me it's the most frustrating team I've watched in Tangerine. Lots of potential but never truly go for it. We have a problem when we are expected to win a match, the psychology of that is also part of coaching.

Don't like the look of that, if Kaikai plays then Husband needs to play left back.

Turton instead of Gabriel?

One up front?

Glad Garbutt is playing though; essential for free kicks and corners.

It's a pretty obvious team really.

Thorniley hasn't played well last two games so Husband comes in leaving space for another left-back. The emphasis is about keeping the ball so Ward and Kaikai are preferred to Mitchell and Hamilton. Similar up top where Simms looks like he might need a break so Embleton gets a go and may strengthen midfield where we've been overrun recently.

It also leaves a very attacking bench if things don't go well.

So I agree on Gabriel issue what’s been said above , he was playing well recently, so why dropped
and also pool finished the match against afc Wimbledon with the top 3 as its starts tonight
kia Kia , Yates , emblton
so instead of trying to win the match for me on Saturday, he was thinking how to start the match against mk dons tonight

Big pitch so all the mobile players who can get round the pitch get dropped. CJ Dougall Simms and Gabriel should all be starting. Where is madine? Why do players just disappear for weeks and months on end with no updates as to what is going on?

It went wrong as soon as he started changing it...remember??

According to Critchley, Madine is “ back on the grass”. If that means playing golf, cutting his lawn or back in training is anybody’s guess.

Kaikai - hit & miss
Virtue - hit & miss
Embleton - not had much to go off
Yates with no partner - definitely more miss than hit.
Can’t afford any passengers so they better turn on their A-game

Kaikai, Yates and Embleton is not an attack that will dominate defenders. Physically very weak. Having Ward back is a good move and Garbutt back in for set pieces I can agree with. It'll be interesting if it's a tight game to see Simms and CJ come on against tired legs.

Agree on CJ, Dougall, Simms and Gabriel.
Madine probably not shaken off the injury. Although if he’s not back soon, there will be no season left or the gap will be too much

Brilliant coaching credentials at Youth level. Coaching and managing Men is a different kettle of fish.
