MK Dons v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 09.03.21

Kaikai, Yates and Embleton is not an attack that will dominate defenders. Physically very weak. Having Ward back is a good move and Garbutt back in for set pieces I can agree with. It'll be interesting if it's a tight game to see Simms and CJ come on against tired legs.
And he’s stuck the defensively minded Stewart in midfield. Where are the attacks coming from? Will Husband and Turton be expected to get much further forward and carry the ball out?
Looks like a 2-0 or 3-0 defeat with a red card. Hope I’m wrong

Think Critch is going with 4-3-3 to account for MK Dons possession based style.

Last two matches he went for 4-4-2 and got played out of the park because of lack of bodies in the midfield.

We have the quality to win tonight and I hope we show it.

BIG games needed from Hubby, Stewart, and KaiKai.

It should be interesting, he keeps the fans guessing so the opposition won't have a clue who is going to play until they see the team sheet.
Plenty of pace to come off the bench later in the game, who knows it might work!

The Virtue love in continues. Either he,s a genius or just plain tinker man. Who thinks he,s not playing to our strengths? I bet over half of this thread

4 4 2 only really worked with Madine, we have been getting overwhelmed in midfield when we play 4 4 2 without him.

Virtue can get forward, and even score goals, but he isn't the provider of chances we need for the forwards to thrive on. We never did sign that kind of player, unfortunately.
For a young lad, his energy levels are poor. He’s always blowing out of his arse after the hour mark. We might need another worldly from him and tbh we shouldn’t be relying on that.

Gotta say I’m not confident tonight. Really hope NC proves me wrong.

On paper that team should work, so I don't really get the outpouring of angst towards the selection.
In Kaikai, Embleton, Ward & Yates there should be enough to cause them problems.

The issue will, as always, be the general level of cohesion and the link up play, not how the players actually line up.

I agree, although he does offer something different. But the one thing we don't have is a midfielder with that killer pass. Which is a shame because I think our forwards/wingers would really do well with decent service.

Agreed but i think arguably that's the issue with the line up haha! It's not one that's played together much

That’s rubbish, at this stage of the season we should be playing our best 11 and going for it. I support NC, but I cannot understand his constant changing. How can we create any consistency or fluidity?

I’m afraid he brings the criticism on himself sometimes.
Playing catch up is difficult to keep playing your best 11 week in week out. Think the management knows slightly more than you or myself.

Have we done a few passes yet, look how team against us at home started, so poor on the ball.

Wow, can’t get the ball and should be losing already. Wake the fuck up,pool

We should be pressing onto these, instead we are standing off them and making them look good.

Think sometimes they’re just not pressing when or as much as they should be, this Dons side need pressure piled on them or they’ll get too comfortable
