MK Dons v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 09.03.21

That press between the front three needs to be way better or we’re not going to get anywhere with this tactic

It's a pretty obvious team really.

Thorniley hasn't played well last two games so Husband comes in leaving space for another left-back. The emphasis is about keeping the ball so Ward and Kaikai are preferred to Mitchell and Hamilton. Similar up top where Simms looks like he might need a break so Embleton gets a go and may strengthen midfield where we've been overrun recently.

It also leaves a very attacking bench if things don't go well.
Husband was far worse than Thorniley on Saturday.
On paper that team should work, so I don't really get the outpouring of angst towards the selection.
In Kaikai, Embleton, Ward & Yates there should be enough to cause them problems.

The issue will, as always, be the general level of cohesion and the link up play, not how the players actually line up.
On paper that team doesn’t work. He wants a scratchy.
Prefers one wing back and one more defensive, tends to rest Gabriel when Garbutt starts
Not true.

Virtue and Turton are absolutely beyond words appalling tbh.

I'm watching a Blackpool team that look like they haven't even been introduced before the match.
This is absolute dross🤦‍♂️

At last, someone takes the ball and looks to move forward, well done Stewart, free kick and a chance to create something

Jerry has been on it from the start. Biggest difference for me since our stronger period of form is having players around him that can read his game, Madine was very good at it and Hamilton was starting to get there

Maxwell always lumps it when Yates is up front on his own. You know who I mean that giant Yates, who will win everything in the air.
Its pointless, gifts possession away but when we try to pass we can't do that either. Has to come from the manager.

As I write this somehow mk mess up and we get a goal. Wow. Not really deserved but well take it. Must be better on the ball.
