You won’t be washing that bitter taste out with Evian, Perrier or any EU Spring Water this time next year either BHOK as no longer allowed to import due to regulation changes, unless they go for UK approval from the required authority
 
Read the article it focuses on the pandemic more than Brexit saying a lot of drivers went home at the the start of it and new drivers have been unable to train.

You can't even get a car test in Blackpool till the end of November/December there is that much backlog I presume you can blame Brexit for that also.

No, the article clearly focuses on the labour shortage in haulage due to European drivers leaving the UK and the British government not relaxing the immigration system.

COVID-19 has fuelled the problem after many European drivers living in Britain returned home because of the crisis, while it has also hampered the training and testing of thousands of new recruits.

That's not the cause. Brexit is the cause. Why would Covid-19 cause Europeans living in Britain to return home? It doesn't even make sense. Brexit forced them to return home. Some are getting turned away having tried to come back to relieve the situation but immigration are having none of it. Self made Brexit problem. Nothing to do with Covid.

How do I know why they've gone home and then you post a link to an article and put your own view point on it bloody brilliant.

How about the thousands of people who can't get trained which has fuck all to do with Brexit.

There wouldn't be a need for thousands of people to get trained if it wasn't for Brexit.
 
In the terms of balance, why has Brexit forced Europeans to go home?
The ones I employ have all stayed and filled in the residency form which was simple and easy.
My Brit friends living in Germany and Poland are still there too working.

Polish driver turned away - Just one example in this article of a Polish driver refused entry by border force as he didn't supply enough evidence to support his settled status claim.

Don’t know why he struggled as everyone I know filled in the forms and had no issue?

I’m not trying to extol the virtues of Brexit as I am sure issues will be caused by it, I just don’t think this is one of them.
For example one large gym chain I work with employs well over 1000 Europeans across the UK and not one has had an issue with filling in the form online, showing they’re employed and live here.

Maybe it’s different for self employed?

Maybe lorry drivers who are nomadic by the nature of their job and spend most of their life living out of a cab might find it hard to prove previous residency? This lass was here for nearly 2 decades and got a refusal.
 
Excellent, a problem may or may not be down to Brexit.

I can't wait to hear the good news Brexit stories. There must be loads for our £140+ billion.

Correct. As of yet we’ve not heard too many good stories from Brexit either.
Maybe the vaccine roll out, but I’d like to hear more wins?

She got a refusal because she didn’t respond to numerous requests for more info, and is now full of excuses as to why she didn’t receive those requests.
Excuse culture.
