Having pulled a few 24 plus hour shifts when I was younger, my advice would be to ignore the machismo and take a break for reflection. It’s not as if the clients/boss appreciate it after all. 3am one morning I heard one client say to another “so what’s the quality of the work being churned out after this many hours?”. Fair comment to be fair.
Happily we were only dealing with money. Imagine if it was a junior doctor dealing with your wife/child.
And then who is to blame if something goes wrong? The doctor? His line manager? The politicians?
