MOTM - Bowler?!

There was some awful decision making by some of the players today but this was even worse!!

Dujon Sterling for me, from a short list of 1.
Totally agree…he was not at the races at all today…..I know he was heavily marked but when not in possession he was missing on several occasions

Sterling for me, 1 of only 2 or 3 that looked in the game.

The spark he was playing with 6 weeks ago is long gone. Spent half the game wandering infield then jogging over towards Sterling whenever he got forward. Felt for Sterling. Agree with those saying he was MoM. Nothing got past him and he was the only one who seemed to have any energy going forward.

They must have used a dartboard with the players names on, with a blindfolded thrower & Lot of darts, ouch 😣

Josh was marked out of the game today, it happens.
Our passing was very poor today, and many passes were either behind him or too far ahead of him.
I'd have given mom to either Sterling or Thorniley, who I can't recall making the unforced errors of their team mates.

Sterling by a country mile. Only other candidate was Stewart who also might of been suffering jet lag like Dougall but you wouldn't of known.
Stewart didn't travel only KD.
I don't know why they bother with MOM after a defeat you had at least 5 or 6 Forrest players way above any of our team.

Some very dodgy back passes to Grimshaw who in turn was crap with his distribution hence two goals given away, not keen of all the back and sideways passing two or three passes then back to Grimshaw who hoofs it up the pitch, could have done that in the first place save 90 secs and a lot of panic.

For me there were only Sterling, Stewart and (at a push) Madine who could hold their heads up from the starting XI. As for a Blackpool motm I agree that it was Sterling or no-one.

Thought from the first ten minutes their left sided defender had him in his pocket. the few times he got by the defenders he made really poor decisions. surprised we didnt try switching CJ and bowler for periods. the scoreline flattered forest, they were clinical and we made a lot of mistakes in defence.

Their defence was just as error prone - the number of times we intercepted in their final third but couldnt make anything count. we wasted numerous corners and free kicks.

its one of those games where you think we were battered but apart from the goals which could be said to be one scabby, one gifted, one of reasonable quality and one from a break when we were chasing the game, im not sure we were that bad. On another day bearing in mind the opportunities we were creating, in the first as well as the second half we might have come away with a win.

marv had one of his not imperious days. Grimshaw made a couple of bad passes and was culpable for the second goal, but overall i dont think he had a bad game. Husband OK against what was a very good right sided attack. Dougall made a lot of errors today, the first goal came from a very sloppy pass from him. I thought Jerry looked on fire in the first twenty minutes, the forest defence looked really unsettled by him. Madine did what Mdine does but got not one iota of help from the ref.

sterling i thought had a fantastic game.

Should have had a t least two clear penalties. the rugby tackles on madine at teh corner and the one when jerry went through, id say another shit referee but i just take that as par for the course.

we didnt have teh same kind of intensity that we usually have, it may have been forest getting in to quickly. accept the loss - roll on preston and put things right.

Dave,
Bleach commented that Thorniley had a shocker - That was in between the 'dialogue' with "the What day is it young man" :)

I would have given it Stewart.
The problem for me with Dujon, and I'm sure he has said this of himself, is his attacking capabilities. He gets it right positionally but his delivery is poor.
There were plenty of players I would have given lower scores today than Dujon though.

Kevin Stewart for me, with Sterling a close second. If the others had adopted their work rate, we could have won.

It would even have been understandable if the sponsors had chosen Connolly - at least he came on as a sub and scored a goal!
Stewart did play well, and the substitution to save him getting sent off and missing Tuesdays game was also the correct decision

Thorniley did fairly well, but was caught out with his lack of pace for their 4th goal!
Look at every goal. He's nowhere near a Forest player and that's in our box.Beaten way to easily for their third. That's not to say he's to blame for every goal but he could have done more. He turned his back at a shot along the ground for the first and that's why because of not looking it hit his leg and looped up. This division is tough and errors can be punished. For me he had a shocker.

Thorniley was at fault for the last. Out of position completely for it.

Might need my tin hat on, but I wouldn't start JB on Tuesday.
Not only is he looking a little jaded, but teams are identifying him as our main threat and nullifying that accordingly.
You need body armour for that shout 🙈

Who you starting on the right and left then? Just so I can see who’s going to create stuff.

No tin hat required, but I'd play him every game if he's fit.
He was marked out of the game today, it happens. He's probably off in the summer, so play him every game if possible.
Our passing was very poor today, and JB had the ball played behind him quite often, so he had to check back. Either that or it was played too far in front of him, plus he didn't have the support of Gabriel (I think Josh and Jordan work well together) so he was isolated against 2 or 3 at times. It just wasn't happening for him today. I think he'll have good game at Preston, and if I was an opposition fan, I'd be delighted if he was dropped.

I agree. Just looked off it today. Out of rhythm completely. Wasn't the only one.

We've seen on here comments suggesting now we're safe we should give squad players a chance.
Strength in depth is a quality which has enabled us to overcome a horrific injury list.
Kirk and Dale not involved yesterday. They might not be as influential, but are we suggesting Bowler provides our only source of creativity?
What would NC do if he wasn't available?
Some opposition fans are suggesting we're a one-man team and their coaches have planned, successfully recently, to nullify the threat posed by JB.
They also did a number on big Gaz yesterday.
If it's likely these two, amongst others, won't be donning tangerine after May, wouldn't it be helpful to see if others could step up to the mark? Jake Beesley springs to mind.
I realise NC is developing him to the extent he'll adapt to playing at a higher level, but feel he might be given a shout soon to see how he's progressing
