Grimshaw - 7 - Made some good saves, and seemed confident. Made a big distribution-error, but my main critisism for tonight is his aerial ability. Stranded on the line, got me nervous on every corner and throw-in

Gabriel - 7 - WBA created most of their chances on his side, but he put in a good effort, winning headers and helped keep our clean sheet

Ekpiteta - 8 - Dominant in the air, confident on the ball. Two minor "errors" in the first half could have cost us, one were he was rushing out and got turned.

Husband - 9 -My MOM today. Put his body, and head on the line for us time after time. Great, vital blocks, won his attacking headers as well early on

Reece - 8 - Had a very good game, kept his side silent with some nice takles, and ran forward time and time again, even in extra time. HAPPY WITH THIS!

Bowler - 6 - Happy to see him start, but he didn't suceeed with much. Correcly subbed

Wintle - 7- Made some weird involvements, almost putting WBA through twice. Not his best game, neither was the Swansea-game, but he does the simple things good most of the times. Hope he stays, but if he leaves in 6 weeks, I can see Connolly doing his job

Dougall - 6 - Hardly saw him in the first half, better in the second without dominating

Anderson -8 - Was the creator of most of our chances, and almost scored himself. Great player.

Lavery - 6- A surprise starter. Had one great chance where he lost the ball, had very few of his runs down the line. Getting matchfit

Madine - 6- Sorry, but not impressed. Looks very slow on the ball, and is not an option running behind. Wins his headers, but in this league, we have to ask for more. Almost scored just before HT, spoiled a great chance when Bowler should have gotten the ball

Hamilton - 6-Good to see him back, but his decision-making has not improved. Wasted a MASSIVE chance

Dale - 6- No impact

Agree with all of your assessments and comments .
Grimshaws lack of height is a concern and it seeemd only a matter of time before WBA scored from a corner .
Havng said that , the back 4 give great protection to the keeper .

Agree with most of that but not Wintle and Dougall. Both had very good games, and I can't see Connolly doing Wintles job, at all.

May I ask why you think Dougall had a very good game? Maybe I didn’t see what you saw. I know Wintle-Connolly is a bold statement, but if Wintle gets injured now, I can only see Conn being the replacement

I'd lower Grimshaw to a 6. As said they were swinging corners into the six yard box and he never made any effort to get near or come form them. Remained static on his line. I'd lower Wintle to a 6 too. Gave the ball away twice in his own box. Bowler was no better than a 4. Had a shocker.

Agree about Nadine several times he never run into the box when we broke down the wings .One of the times he just stood there looked like he couldn't be bothered it was screaming for a runner we would have scored could believe he didn't make the run at the time very lazy Also thought dale was good looked class and we imediately looked more threatening

Connolly is the only fit possibility at the moment but our season would be affected if Connolly were to replace Wintle in the side from January. In my opinion obviously, but I can't really believe anyone would think that Connolly could play at Wintles level in midfield. Connolly is a defender, no matter what his past might suggest.

Dougall was tireless tonight. Watch the replay and watch him. Not motm or anything, but a real grafting performance with a fair amount of skill. We would have been far stronger tonight without Bowler and Madine, they weakened us, in my mind. Offered little. And in my opinion that's why we struggled to impose ourselves. As well as Lavery being rusty.

Agree about Grimshaw with one exception. In the first half they swung over a corner and completely barged him out of the action. These things can affect a young keeper. Keogh might have been able to protect him a bit whereas Marv isn't that experienced.

Sorry Voy, with you all the way - esp. regarding Dougall- but not Madine. Madine was excellent tonight. His strong layoffs were critical in forward midfield and he almost got a goal.

just seen the replay of our chance just before half time. Did Anderson a bit of a disservice by thinkung he was right on the spot to knock it over the line when in fact he was a couple of yards away.

Well again, I didn't see it tbh. I thought he was poor tonight. My opinion, can't be arsed with another repetitive debate. We need better. He didn't win much at all, for me.

think you also fail to recognise how big a team WBA were and how effective Madine can be on defensive duties. Agree with 66, Madine had a very good first half and won loads of aerial balls and his lay offs were excellent.

I have no idea how a keeper can keep a clean sheet and get a 6. He had very little outlet ball with how they pressed from the front and Madine and Lavery barely held anything up all night. Maxwell would have faired no better.

Weird opinions here.

Wintle and Dougall can’t be less than a 7. Not can Grimshaw. When you draw 0-0 with West Brom.

I thought Dale had a very positive impact, loads of energy and looked a threat in possession. I think he put the cross in for Madine at the end, similar to his cross for Jerry at Reading. Also, he linked well with others and worked back defensively.

Yes he's helpful in our own box. Granted. Just not very effective at the other end.

He got a 7..

Agree Phil.
On more than one occasion when we broke down the wings, our strikers made no effort to sprint into goal scoring positions.
When WB broke, they had four or five players in the box every time.

He still looks a little injured. Maybe that was why he got zero minutes vs Swansea. Also always very late getting back from an offside-position, meaning our balls towards him goes to the opposition, as he's not allowed to track.
