My Thoughts on it (NEW VIDEO)

After watching it back on TTV today and checking whether I was delusional? had dreamt it? and wanting to hear what Brett and Chissie thought I had to make a video and get it all off my chest.

It was an amazing game with so much drama but ruined by one little man for me.

Anyway here are my thoughts

Great analysis. Totally agree. Cmon pool fight fight fight. We need 3 point.

Even on analysing the decisions they are still ridiculous.

Just robbed in that game but also ourselves to blame for poor decisions. Ekipteta is fair, Thompson was daft of him but you can see why he was mad.

The ref was ignoring basic decisions as it went on.

Not seen you that angry on a video, seemed to get madder as it went on.

Decent report, Lee. Enjoyed listening.

I think part of me is still buzzing from how much fight we showed - the other half slightly vexed that the bstard in the black lost us 2 points!

Yes I guess just recounting the end of the game and the total and utter bollocks of the equaliser and the Lavery sending off was enough to push me over the edge toward the end. I'm still fuming and need a win or 2 this week to settle me down!

Yes I'm much the same I'm really falling in love with the way we play its exciting again and we were so good we just had to win at top of the League with all the money they have invested in their squad and yep we did cause our downfall especially with Marvin I'm just furious at how unjust Thompson's sending off was but despite all that the equaliser could not be allowed to stand in any world where things are fair and just.

It was wrong in the stadium, it was even worse on TTV and I simply don't have words to describe how I feel

The referees positioning for some very important decisions was appalling.
20 yards away from the Thommo 2nd yellow when the lino was right next to the incident.
30 yards away from the 'ghost' penalty with at least half a dozen players between him and the incident.
The equaliser when Maxwell is fouled and at least two players are offside!!
Also his dealings with the melee after the final whistle were nothing short of shambolic.
But yet again the EFL will do nothing apart from fining Blackpool for not controlling their players.

Ever so slightly biased 😂

McBurnie didn’t shove Thompson right in front of the ref, he just put his hand out because Thompson was aggressively running towards the ref with his hands up like a right dickhead… Thompson then aggressively shoved McBurnie in the chest and was rightly booked…(EDIT: Mcburnie does give him a little push to be fair)

It was then Thompson who firstly attempted to go shoulder to shoulder in the corner when their player was in possession and their player came off better, because he was better balanced and Thompson fell over… Then another petulant / aggressive play by kicking the ball at the player…

The ref was poor, but he got those decisions spot on… Thompson and Blackpool have nobody to blame but themselves for the sendings off I’m afraid.

Yes of course its all about opinions and that's not mine but that's okay I don't expect everyone to agree with me👍🏻

However I do agree it was stupid to kick the ball and the sensible (shithousery) thing to do was to make an absolute meal of the barge/push/shove either rolling around in agony or lying unconscious or whatever utter cheating shenanigans we see week in week out against us. And as I said in the video I would have took him off after the 1st yellow because you could see the red mist had come down, Critch would definitely have done.

Hopefully Appleton coaches that out of him or the player learns the dark arts of getting the opponent booked rather than retaliating or Appleton sees the danger next time and hooks him off

Personally I tend to be inwardly focused on stuff like this... The referee and the opposition are things that are outside of our control and so I don't see much point or benefit in paying them too much attention. I'm more interested in what we do and what we don't do... And in that game Chris Maxwell had a right job on his hands to try and keep Dom Thompson from blowing up on a number of occasions. It's in those kind of intense games, where you need cool heads and you need to channel that aggression and frustration in to absolute cold hearted concentration / determination.

The challenge from Big Marv (second Yellow) was perhaps excusable, but in reality it was unnecessary and most likely as a result of a loss of focus... The Dom Thompson reaction to both the head injury and the shoulder barge, was just childish and ridiculous.

As a Supporter it's that which I find really frustrating... The lads have given absolutely everything in that game... Jerry Scoring two great goals, Lavery putting in a great shift... Patino being decked with a challenge and responding to that like an accomplished and mature pro... Only to be let down by a couple of moments of real stupidity. We went through every emotion possible, we should have won... and for me that's something Appo really needs to drill into them (especially Thompson)... His team mates should not have to put up with his silly tantrums handing over the intiative, when they've all worked so hard.

Yep a good watch and I'm pretty much with you on everything apart from your views on the Thompson incidents. Thompson is clearly a hot head,we've seen it before, and he let the team and his team mates down badly.

Yep couldn't agree more and I know you can't do anything about the ref but my god it truly was unbelievable even if you take out the 2 reds it was still unbelievable.

Bad refs get boos from the crowd but it takes another level of absolutely horrendous refereeing to be officiating a game that has got so inflamed with anger that he has failed to control through countless Bad calls that it ends up in a brawl with the players after the final whistle and fans who went to the previous game the season before without any incident whatsoever fighting in the streets after the game.

I find it impossible not to say something it's just the way I'm wired I still cannot get over the penalty decision or the foul on Maxi for the 98th minute equaliser or the 8 minutes tbh

Yes he did hopefully he will learn ot have it coached into him and its the dark arts that we are not experienced in. When someone barges you into the advertising boards just make a meal of it roll around in agony, lay unconscious like other teams do, be smart.

Even Maxi he does everything to get back on his feet and get across to the ball I know its all heat of the moment stuff but lay motionless in the net he was clattered into looking like you need immediate emergency attention and the ref cannot allow that goal to stand.

It's simple in hindsight but I remember Jane calling Coventry out for their shithousery early last season and their fans replies on my video were simply they came up and they soon learned you had to be because that's how it is.

Marvin was really getting fouled a lot and we just don't make a meal of it like everyone else does. I'm not saying pretend or fake it but make a meal if it when you are being fouled

Very good watch Lee.
The thing is, will the Referee, or what was designated as a Referee, get any questions from the EFL about his disgraceful performance on the match?
Unfortunately I wasn't at the match, however many Pool fans were.
Therefore someone should contact the EFL and complain about a totally inept performance by the Match officials.
Surely it's not going to end there?
Was he given a low mark by the BFC management, or does that not happen now?

They are definitely assessed and yes AFAIK the managers mark them. When Jane was match secretary at Chase Town she was involved in marking referees
