Nathan Shaw.

I wouldn't write Garrity off so quick. He was doing well at Oldham until an injury struck. That was his first taste of EFL football. I also remember Warrington Town fans predicting he could eventually go higher than League One which was a bold statement for a player just trying to get his first break through. Must have something there so will be good to see him in pre-season now he has that experience under his belt.
Yeah possibly, I’m presuming rather than writing him off personally. I know he came to league footy late, I’ve not seen him play much, I’m just going off the fact he’s 24 and the Oldham forum wasn’t very complimentary. Happy if he proves them wrong.

Even with big investment, youth development is a lottery and there's thousands of cases of players being let go by their first club and then coming back strongly to play in a much higher league than their first club. Rickie Lambert is a good example.
There are also other considerations, Ricky Lambert showed some potential when he played a first team game and he could strike the ball even at a young age. He was forced out by Steve McMahon who didn't want completion for his son to step up into the first team. McMahon also tried to freeze out Keith Southern and stopped playing Phil Clarkson for the same reason.

Ah.... yes well you see !!!!!

Phil Foden is an example of a young player grabbing his chance when he got into the MC first team at 17, and scoring his first goal at 18. Ellis Simms, age 20, really threw himself into the game and listened to his coaches.

Nathan Shaw has talent, but he's a little too laid back and trying to make it look effortless. He needs to get some fire in his belly. He needs to be loaned out and told by Critch to really go for it.

Some tangerine tinted specs on with this, he showed a couple of nice touches in meaningless kick abouts in pre season…….the fact that he had a poor loan at Stockport and now nobody above Kirkham will take him tells you about the level he’s currently at.

Antwi Apter etc look far better prospects
