Nearly 7,500 Season Tickets Sold

Why would someone need an excuse not to renew

Its hardly having an internal organ removed
People will always find an excuse/reason to justify not renewing, however they’ll have had no intention of renewing.

Happens every year, rather people just kept quiet rather than whinging about daft things like the website not working, how would they have coped in the days where you had to queue up for tickets?! Pathetic.

Who is finding an excuse for not renewing?

It's decent considering the price increase and the lack of signings, manager leaving etc.

I think allowing those with memberships to buy more than one matchday ticket at membership price, along with allowing season ticket holders the same, would probably mean we at least maintain last seasons average of 12,000. It's the best way of encouraging more fans to attend - the regular supporters are the best marketing tool at the club's disposal, but they can't do that job without some help from the club.

I would rather people were just honest and said I can’t be arsed this year.
Exactly my point.

‘We haven’t spent money on anyone yet’
‘Website is playing up’
‘Training ground is a pipe dream and hasn’t actually been started yet so I don’t believe it’ll happen’
‘Appleton wasn’t who I wanted as manager’

Bore off and stay at home.

I can't be arsed this year

But I've renewed anyway as I'm even less arsed about the thought of having to buy on a game by game basis when i fancy attending

A season ticket to me isn't about saving money or being a super duper fan

Its just convenience

The club has already shown willing by giving folk an early bird option... If people are too stupid, lazy or disorganised to take advantage, then tough crapola.

It's not about me being "Alright Jack"... Anyone who wants a ticket has the same opportunity...

Course it's pandering to idiots... If you've not sorted yourself out by now and you want to pay the cheaper price, then you're an idiot (simple as).

Yes, A nice clean deadline... 4th of a month is unnecessarily messy and as I've said, we'd still; have the same number of idiots, who'd want it extending to accommodate the fact that they still get paid by cheque or some other bullshit.

You can fuck around forever with idiots.... As I said they're not worth the effort. We'd be better if they went and supported Preston and drained their finances instead TBH.
All clubs do that, its no big deal.

I hope the club extend tommorow, would be funny just to see your reaction.

Also you say you're not the im alright Jack type but are calling people who haven't renewed idiots, yeah people have had plenty chance but some will be waiting for that final payday and its cutting it tight, calling them all idiots is daft.

Your last sentence sums up the stupidity of your argument, rather they supported our rivals, what sort of fan would want that.

Most of us want as many as possible so the club can be all it can be.

We might have different ideas of how to do it, but to say that is just daft.

I'd agree with those excuses being just that, apart from the website issue.

Anyone no renewing because of the others is making excuses. Even the website is an inconvenience that can be overcome, just not an ideal situation going into the final day.

There is absolutely no excuse being made by any single person for not renewing

Its not that important, it really isn't

Anyway post me your seat number so i can come and lick your face

I doubt the club will extend tomorrow, but if they want to give the idiots a chance to catch up, then so be it.... I wouldn't though....

It's not daft at all.... If you've left yourself in a situation where you end up missing a discount you wanted to take advantage of by a matter of days, having known about the deadline for ages, then you're an idiot. If you're finances are short, then frankly you're even more of an idiot, because you needed to get yourself organised more than most.

Being a financial drain on our rivals instead of us is ultimately in our best interests. We need fans who make us money, not fans who cost us money.

Am I the only one who thinks "NEARLY" 7500 its not that good with one day to go?

Oh and none of my 5 or 6 fair weather fans say they will be buying a silly £15 membership, or paying £30 for any game either.
And I do half understand them, because Blackpool is their 2nd club, and if Blackpool was my 2nd club, I'd probably feel the same.

But I do hope this isn't representative of other fair weather/half-hearted fans or this scheme could be disastrous.

There’s literally posts on here of people complaining they can’t renew because of website issues, that are suddenly an issue the day or two before the deadline.

Block D, row V, I’ll be the one covered in saliva

Well that makes no sense whatsoever.

Why?

What don't you understand

I live in Wales i have kids who i have brought up to be Blackpool fans and i go to games, like i have done for the past 35 years or so

In that time I've probably averaged about 30 games a season

Sometimes i get a season ticket Sometimes i don't, it matters not a fcuking jot

Its easier having one so I've renewed, although it was touch and go at times

Ok with you?

I agree its dog shit to be honest

Did you end up ringing the Ticket Office or did the Online System work in the end?

Not heavily into PR are you?

I'm very much into PR and marketing, I just think that there will always be people who moan or want more for less, regardless of what you try and do.
It's a message board, of course people moan. Still, one extra week for the early bird wouldn't harm and might persuade a few stragglers and undecideds. Not everyone's on the case from the get go.

Do think that there will be some level of apathy until we play a few pre-season games due to Appleton's last stint here.

Yeah if I missed it it'd be my fault, but I'm a hardcore fan, not waiting on payday, others have different levels of allegiance and aren't as organised. Plus if waiting for payday this month its a rush tommorow.

How are they costing us money? Thats just a ridiculous statement. They cost us money by not renewing and according to you they will just renew at the higher price. Hmmm.

Bear in mind though that there's a few thousand who couldn't buy them because of website issues and their late paydays..... If Simon extends the deadline, they'll buy them before Monday, if not then they might just pay on the day or pay for a full price season ticket.
Nice strawman argument, no one said that many, but if it helps even a small number than why the fuck not.

Exactly, what's the harm in allowing a bit more time to persuade a few, help a few.

It might harm and it might benefit... So there's no overwhelming reason to make a change to the policy as it is.

Like I said, they're not worth bothering about then... Let them pay the higher ST price or Matchday Prices... Early Bird offers are designed to get money in early, that's the whole point.

They're costing us money if we are forced to keep accommodating their specific needs at the expense of policy decisions that suit the overwhelming majority. Hence why the policy decisions shouldn't be affected by them.

It is still early, we haven't kicked a ball in anger even in a friendly, or signed a player. I'm hoping a lot more renew tommorow as based off the planner there's a lot more unavailable seats and presumably lots of new ST'S.

But they aren't costing us money if they don't renew, not extending may cost us more by putting last minute people off.

Actually Phil said it was thousands...

And if it only helps a small number, then it's pointless.
It's not pointless to the people it helps.

That's my attitude, clearly yours is different.

“Am I the only one who thinks "NEARLY" 7500 its not that good with one day to go?”

There is actually a month to go !

Probably come in close to last year

1. EXACTLY 👍

2. You could say that about anything that involved making special allowances for people.... The line has to be drawn somewhere...Just accept it and focus your attention on stuff that really matters.

I’m just surprised how many middle aged divorced blokes there are who have still got this much to spunk on their Saturday entertainment. Surely anyone with a family will struggle to justify spending this in this climate whilst it’s also way out of the reach of any young kids. We should be glad Blackpool has so many old gits with nothing better to do.

You said they would cost us money and then agreed they don't....

It'll be interesting to see if the club feel there's enough who haven't renewed to extend it, seem to be sticking to it so far but whonows. Might be what the planner suggests, all depends on tommorow.

I have accepted it although my position is clear, I have no control in it, made my points and have been going round in circles with you for hours.

No, I said that ** around to try and accommodate them costs us money.... Or at least that's what I meant.

It really won't be remotely interesting.... Finding out we have made a decent signing or two would be interesting.... A detailed draft of plans for the new East Stand would also be interesting.... Whether or not they extend the early bird deadline doesn't even figure on the 'Interesting Scale'

I'm glad you've accepted it.... 'Acceptance' is the only path to end your suffering 👍

I love a good face licking so I’m seat 14 block c in the north, if you struggle finding me I shall be wearing a cravat with a bowler hat slightly tilted to the left in a quirky manner

Well, a weird point to try and make.

I disagree, of course the points you mention are more interesting, but still interested to see if they did. That would tell us a decent amount haven't renewed and they think they might if given the time.

It's also helpful to have some player signings and generate some buzz during the period where most buy a ST. But I don't care how they attend, whether tickets or ST.

I accepted it ages ago, but its a messageboard for making points, so I do just that. Certainly not suffering. Apart from suffering circular arguments with you, seemingly unwilling to accept it's also ok to want to help as many people as we can and grow the core support.

Why weird? We were having a discussion about your idea that we should change an agreed policy to accommodate a handful of people... I was saying that we shouldn't waste time and money trying to please a few stragglers.

If you find it interesting then great.... 👍 👍 👍

You are suffering... You've invested much of your personal self (your ego) into the number of fans we have in attendance... If crowds are large you feel happy, if crowds are lower you feel less happy. Acceptance is the only path to end that suffering... Simply let go.... You're still a complete person, whether the crowd is 5000 or 10,000

Because it made no sense. Setting a deadline of Monday doesn't cost.

It seems its more than a few...

We haven't got much to be excited about yet and I do like the club attracting more people.

I'm not suffering, I enjoy banter, I have my reasons for enjoying it more than most...

I enjoy the football regardless but I do enjoy it more with more there if it improves the atmosphere and helps the team, plus the club should grow year on year. We've been in bad places and need to play catch up still.

Some of us want the best and want more.

I'm with you brother

Don't worry about BFC x3 he's always been an argumentative sod

Of course it costs... Just because you can't grasp why it would cost doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. To change the deadline now would cost... To set the deadline a week later originally would also have a cost. The discounted price will be calculated based upon a model that aims to deliver revenue into the club by that date.... That date is crucial (especially when the Club is being run on a tight budget)... Any variation on that will impact the plan and therefore cost the business.

It's not more than a few.... In fact I'd be very surprised if we would gain anything at all by changing the deadline... All that will happen is that fans will pay the higher price instead, which is in the clubs interests in any case. You're making a mountain out of a molehill and you're adding to your personal suffering in the process... You need to stop this, it's really not healthy.

Banter is one thing, but this crowd thing is an obsession....

Acceptance is the key and for the best....Wanting more is the issue 👍

Rather than me grasping why not explain why it costs so dearly....

The price is basically last years plus a bit because of inflation.

Of course the club will have worked out how many they want, expect etc. But they literally said they expect to grow. We had 8k last season, we might match that, hopefully better it even just with tommorow.

Extending doesn't change much with regards revenue plan. It might make the club more money, at least initially.

If people go on tickets they'll pay more but were on about building core support.

Well Blackburn have has theirs go up even late on in their extension.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill to the opposite argument as usual.

Some of us like to analyse attendances some like arguments... we all have things we like.

Coming across very condescending with your quotes and judgements.

I've spent the last 24 hours (including the post you've just responded to) explaining.... But nothing goes in.... Like I say, you're ego has attached itself to the crowd, to your solution and to this thread...There's no going back... To do so would mean that a part of you would die and you can't let that happen.

I'll keep trying to help, I'm sure it will be worth it in the end

Namaste🙏
