Authorities saying it is caused by a seasonal overlap of already known, existing viruses combined with the first winter following covid restrictions.
Sincerely hope so, but like you say, watch this space!

The best indicator of whether the new virus is a threat would be to look at how the Chinese stock market is doing the SSE index is doing okay at the moment it will start to crash if there is another big shutdown on its way.
