New Free Caravan Site (St Annes Road) Palatine Leisure Centre

Still there last night, went over grass verges, can not believe they have not been shifted, its the Gym car park...Do the Police have the power ?,
Double checked I locked my doors last night
 
Plod have no power, other than its illegal to drive over the pavements, but the caravans, are on private (Council) land, & are considered an illegal caravan site. The council must (at our expense) get a court order, & they know that. Then there is the clear up afterwards, again at our expense.

I feel sure if I decided to have a holiday, stopping overnights on council land, the reaction from the council would be different?

There looked to be some top of the range vans & vehicles when I went past on the way home after the match. Whilst I have some sympathy for their chosen way of life, things have changed since they appeared around the 16th century & they weren’t popular even back then. Plus the mess that’s left behind every time. It seems nobody is willing to come up with any viable solutions. So I guess it’ll continue indefinitely.
 
Just posted on the other thread one of their own is in ICU at Victoria Hospital and over 50 have turned up trying to get in when no visitors are allowed.
Police called.
 
Crazy world we live in where these posts will be edited to remove anything contentious but nobody will bother the lovely travellers who will use the car park as a toilet and leave clean up costs of thousands to be paid by taxpayers. They contribute nothing but expect to do whatever they want and cause utter chaos wherever they go. Why oh why do we tolerate this?
 
Ye they are in the car park of the leisure centre but that is their way if life , why bother😯 ok you canny go to the gym for a couple of days but just go for a walk maybe instead👍🏻

But what if my way of life, was using a grenade launcher & like destroying caravans, would that be OK?

I swim every day but now like many people cannot use a public facility because of the carefree attitude of a section of the community.

The council will have to put a fence round the centre now, as this is the second time in the last couple of months they have desended..

It’s a shit job, I thought I was seeing things when I drove down there yesterday, maybe it’s built in traffic calming. All uneven.

I honestly thought they'd just opened it up for the daytime and were cracking on again that night, until I saw the lines painted on.

And there lies one of the issues, they pay fcuk all in tax and NI but expect everything out of the system for nothing! Apologies if I’ve upset a snowflake, but many years ago these loverly people took an angle grinder to 3 of our vans in the middle of the night and cut out the catalytic converters!

Just passed the ones on Revoe Park Roofers and Landscapers vans with mobile numbers, email and a website yet they live in a tin can.
 
I believe they are now leaving Palatine, Pool reopening tomorrow, Whooppeee

Wonder where they will go next?
 
Would be better taking over another field in Poulton, saw quite a few when I was there on Sunday, had a drink at Old nells and it was full of them,although there was a big fair on.
 
If the various Govt departments (eg Tax) had a Task Force that could be mobilised at any time for incidents they would be off in a flash.

Been on several in Chesterfield and Mansfield area, and it works.

They always leave so much mess costing thousands for the clear-ups, and yet people support their existence.

Have yet after many legal dealings yet to meet an honest one.

Over the past decade, we’ve had a number of encampments on Whitehills. On one occasion we paid for a ‘Firm’ from Essex to come and eject one particularly persistent bunch.

Incidents included…

Intimidating people on their way in and out of work.

Parking caravans literally 1 meter away from building entrances.

A male traveller knocking out his 10 year old kid and then dragging him by the feet across a Carpark into the caravan.

Crapping in the doorways / entrances of numerous businesses.

A Carpark literally full of broken bottles / glass.

Rubbish including gas bottles, prams, bikes, dirty nappies etc.. left everywhere.

Opening up roadside hydrants and showering under them…

I’m pretty tolerant, but some of theses characters take the piss and the Police are useless.
 
Any idea where they've gone now? Leaving Blackpool ratepayer to foot a large bill for the clean up, costs for a court order & the closure for many days of our sports centre... Scum

They'll pop up somewhere else locally.

Why do the police not get involved? ** useless.
 
They are not all bad....

Seamus and Mick knocked on our door last Thursday to let me know I had a few loose tiles on my roof.
Couldn't see any myself, but Seamus said he counted 33 and said a normal roofer would quote £1,000 to fix them.
Mick & Seamus said as they were just passing through....They would do the job for £50...What luck!

Thank god they both turned up....Because when they got up there, the whole roof was a "fekin mess" according to Seamus.
Whole new roof, Mick said......£30,000 from any other roofer.....But they really liked me.....so would do it for £5,000 cash.

Mick and Seamus even took me in their van to the bank to pick up the cash.........Just to buy materials!!
Seamus said they would be back last Monday.......Not seen them yet, but what a lovely pair of blokes saving me all that money......
