It's a great job for an up & coming manager. One of the biggest budgets in league one and the best fan base if things are going well and we play attacking football. You can suggest who you like, it comes down to who the fcuk wants to be Blackpool manager at the moment?
Wellens may be happy at Orient
Evatt is more than happy at Bolton
Wild may have watched the situation from afar and think, sod that.
I honestly think Sadler has backed himself so far into a corner he probably can't afford to sack Critchley, so let's strap ourselves in and look forward to another 3 years of unbelievably exciting edge of your seats football
Heard him talk pre and post match (v Orient) about us and I was very surprised how well he talked of us. I seem to remember he holds the record for the amount of transfer requests he put in when he was a Blackpool player. He always seemed to have a grudge against us as an opposition player too. Didn't he get Adam sent off in his debut when he was at Donny? Playing for Oldham in the play offs he spouted some nonsense and again at Lesturd he was rather derogatory about us.Wellens would be a very good choice
Lincoln another example who got their manager who most have never heard of from the Leeds coaching team and now they are flying.I think we should do a bit of research for once, and look a bit further afield!
For example, QPR have been a shitshow for years, but found this Marti Cifuentes guy who seems to have finally turned them around.
Nobody had ever heard of Ange Postecoglu before Celtic took a chance when he was an unknown in Australia.
Point is, plenty good managers overseas if we just just do a bit of research.
Either that or a young up and coming guy like Ipswich found with Kieran McKenna.
There was a young coach at Man utd we were linked with a year ago?
Plenty options for us if we think outside the box.

He’s matured as a manager but I’m sure he’d like to move back northHeard him talk pre and post match (v Orient) about us and I was very surprised how well he talked of us. Perhaps he's grown up into a more level headed man?
To work out our shortcomings he’d have to admit 3 centre backs is bringing us no benefits, but he’s balls deep on this formation now and can’t change or he’ll look daft.Presuming we now miss out on the P/O’s, then you would assume Critch will have to explain this seasons under performance to SS (I say underperformance as I believe we have a top six budget?)
If Critch has enough self awareness to admit his shortcomings this season, and crucially what needs to change ahead of next I’d be inclined to give him another go next season, and think that’s what SS wants.
If not and he blames everything but himself then let’s cut him loose and go for Wellens
...and 3 years of turgid football and ever decreasing attendances. No thanks. You can suggest who you like, it comes down to who the fcuk wants to be Blackpool manager at the moment?

With Colin Hendry as his No2Richie Wellens for me and I reckon he would love it.
Eric Ramsay he went to Minnesota in the MLSI think we should do a bit of research for once, and look a bit further afield!

When Orient went 0-2 down to Peterborough today, Wellens totally changed the system and brought 4 subs on and imediately got a goal back through Ethan Galbraith. Peterborough were under massive pressure but managed to hang on for a 1-2 win. What impressed me was Wellens on the sidelines instructing his players forward and not an iPad to be seen.Richie Wellens hands down.
Yep simple Simon is more than happy with league 1 as he can't or won't fund anything higher. It's what Si wants.
Neil's name kept coming back to the top of the list.
He's the chosen one
This is what I mean with Wild. If Barrow do go up then he isn't going to want to come to another League 1 team that seems to be a basket case every other week. He would raise his stock even more by staying there and keeping them up possiblely getting on of the bigger club in this league interested in him. However if they don't go up, then he must be looking at stepping up another level and we could snag him because of that. You can suggest who you like, it comes down to who the fcuk wants to be Blackpool manager at the moment?

It was a hypothetical scenario to take dobbie out of the 'running' to sound out what people thought about a post critchley world.I know the OP said to discount Dobbie for 'a fresh start', but I don't see why we need to. You look at Lincoln taking a coach from Leeds, Portsmouth taking a coach from Oxford, well we might have one of those coaches sat under our noses! We saw the football he tried to implement, and that was the very definition of attacking football, and that was in only 6 games in charge, imagine a whole summer to implement.
Brian Barry-Murphy is an external name I like. Football League experience, did very well at Rochdale and implemented a good to watch attacking style there with very limited resources. Struggled eventually, but only because his team was ripped apart. Been coaching the Manchester City elite academy, so they obviously see something in him.

It is surprising no one seems to have taken a chance on him, but as you say, maybe it's a role he feels lucky to have and doesn't want to leave. However if you sell anyone a good enough project, I'm sure they'd consider. I just remember his Rochdale team when we played them, and they played some really good stuff, and working with limited resources he gave youth a chance, players such as 17yr old Luke Matheson and Aaron Morley.Brian Barry-Murphy......
He earned widespread praise for overseeing an attractive, possession-based brand of attacking football as well for his work in developing and encouraging young talent at the club before joining City at the start of the 2021/22 season.
His first campaign at the Academy Stadium proved a huge success, as City retained the Premier League 2 crown in impressive fashion.
And Barry-Murphy would follow that up with another memorable season in 2022/23, as he guided our youngsters to a third consecutive PL2 titles - a record for the competition.
I could get behind that as long as he brings half of that PL2 team with him! TBH would he leave such a prestigious role to come to a Lg1 club?
Dobbies been for several managerial jobs, most recently Accy.I know the OP said to discount Dobbie for 'a fresh start', but I don't see why we need to. Football is such a precarious industry and one commodity that is always in short supply is time. Brian B-M is very much in the Simon Sadler mindset a highly rated coach who has developed elite young players at a World class club. Could he transfer that potential and coaching philosophy to a Lg1 club? The fact he has played and managed at lower league clubs gives him an edge but like Critchley he would need to have an experienced assistant to help him out.It is surprising no one seems to have taken a chance on him, but as you say, maybe it's a role he feels lucky to have and doesn't want to leave. The other team that really impressed me when we played them around that time as well was David Artell's Crewe, who again played some really nice stuff and brought through players like Wintle, Kirk, Dale, Lowry, so always surprised me he was out of work for so long after Crewe and ended up at Grimsby.
If we got him, would hope we can grab that Conn-Clarke, who I’ve not seen, but by all accounts is supposed to be one hell of a player and there’s clubs around us looking out for him.If Wild is a possibility then I’d add Phil Parkinson at Altrincham, with assistant Neil Sorvel. Taken them from the depths of the club’s recent history through to play-off position in NL, in only the club’s second year at full-time level. He’s built something over 6 years, recruiting very well on a very tight budget. He’s a very good manager, speaks well and is highly respected. However, my hope is that he takes Alty into the EFL.
Ange was never an unknown in Australia.I think we should do a bit of research for once, and look a bit further afield!
