could have sworn there was plenty of football going on this weekend including England playing tonight.
It is forever since I've listened to that. I might listen to it on my headphones later cos I bought some decent ones a bit back and they're really interesting to listen to old stuff in cos I can literally hear more bits of the recording.I'll listen to Pick of The pops at 1, as I've not listed to the retro chart show for a while because we're usually having a beer before the Blackpool match.1976 so should be good. Then I'll give Sergeant Peppers a spin as I've not listened to that for a while either.
Then off to a pub to watch England tonight. I'm probably in the minority but I'm glad there's a break because we need at least 2 weeks to either get players back (Keogh slight groin niggle) or integrate their replacements.
Are the tunes on tho?Is the England game on? In the words of the great Bernard Manning, Thought they'd started the bbq without us.
I often whistle 'New Brighton promenade' to myself for no reason. This was in my head when I got up for some reason.
HA! Exactly the same here.I often whistle 'New Brighton promenade' to myself for no reason.
The other day, I came home from work pretty late on, parked my car and thought 'why am I thinking of a really old James song' and it turned out that I wasn't thinking of a really old James song', I could actually hear the real James playing in Williamson's park in Lancaster but just really quietly so I didn't notice immediately.

Probably not listened to it all the way through since I was about 15. Great record.
I bought some sennheiser HD6xx on massdrop - they're basically identical to HD650s but a different colour and cheaper cos of the way Massdrop works. What headphones are you sporting td53?
One of the best / most passionate live performers I’ve ever seen TD.The other day, I came home from work pretty late on, parked my car and thought 'why am I thinking of a really old James song' and it turned out that I wasn't thinking of a really old James song', I could actually hear the real James playing in Williamson's park in Lancaster but just really quietly so I didn't notice immediately.
James have always been one of them bands that kind of pass me by, I dunno, they're grand, but they're someone else's favourites if that makes sense.
This track completely does me in though. The little change in key to the chorus. Wow. I always like reading Tim Booth cos he's mental in a good way.
Nice kit. Bit out of my price range to justify really but having looked on Massdrop (never seen this site before) maybe!I bought some sennheiser HD6xx on massdrop - they're basically identical to HD650s but a different colour and cheaper cos of the way Massdrop works.
They're ace. Really expose a lower quality source though and I have to run them off my actual amp cos nowt else I own (laptop/phone) will drive them.
Tbh, I spend nowt on owt but music or football. That's basically it. I got them cos I was listening to vinyl really quietly after everyone has gone to bed and thinking 'its pointless spending money on records, having a decent amp and deck and listening so quietly I can't actually hear the bass and stuff'Nice kit. Cheap enough on there (just looked), people spend more on those god awful airpod things.Tbh, I spend nowt on owt but music or football. That's basically it. They will still be good in 20 years.
Investment
Precisely. I have a cheap (relatively) phone, car, house etc.Cheap enough on there (just looked), people spend more on those godawful airpod things.
Never.Too early ?
I've never heard that before in my life, class, cheersToo early ?
They supported The Levellers a couple of years ago (shit it’s actually six years ago, that went quick) at Winter Gardens. Good LiveI've never heard that before in my life, class, cheers
They were at the last Beautiful Days too. Seen them at Castlefield Bowl a few years back, pretty sure it was a Levellers gig then, as well. They supported The Levellers a couple of years ago (shit it’s actually six years ago, that went quick) at Winter Gardens. Good Live
Crikey... Not one to watch on Acid
Nice bit of Evil Blizzard now. Who are from the wrong end of the M55 but in their defence, they're signed to John Robb's label so that's something.
MORE TUNES!!!
They're great. Kind of old school metal with a really psychedelic edge. But yes, not one for the more sensitive moments in lifeCrikey... Not one to watch on Acid
I've already committed that sin with the Boo Radleys above who although Scousers were straight outta Preston, they even signed with Action Records at first.

Excellent as always, might as well get some gratuitous prom and base level Granada action in...Can’t beat a bit of Doves. Hopefully seeing the, twice next year - at the Apollo in Mcr and then Delamere
THey did once do an interview in the NME where they said preston was a dump tho so that's fine.I've already committed that sin with the Boo Radleys above who although Scousers were straight outta Preston, they even signed with Action Records at first.
Also, any Pavement fans out there? Can’t wait to see them again next October. Am just about in this video (somewhere in the crowd at Reading 1994)
Stephen Malkmus stuff post pavement is also excellent. His Sparkle Hard album a couple of years ago was immense. This is definitely in my top 50 tunes ever. Love a bit of Pavement. One of the most inventive and unique sort of 'indie guitar type' bands ever.
Note the asterisk and footnote.Somebody will be upset, No Football?
It’s the big Lancashire Derby today, Accy v Cods!
Later via YouTube on the big tele box in me bar if me n Mrs get out of hand we I'll put the caraoke versions on and wake the neighbours. Are the tunes on tho?
That's very 'Levellers with Simon Friend singing' - never heard of them before.

Best tune they've done IMO.
