Nobbers vs Development Squad.

I'm thinking of going along, will it count towards a cods ticket? 😁

On a serious note I am thinking of it grateful for the location if the details are incorrect above

A View From The Dark Side:....We are forever living rent free in their minds...

"Anything less than 5-0 to Blackpool is a good result here."
"Not many Cup Finals take place in September"
"Anything less than 7-0 to Blackpool is a good result here......Adjusted for accuracy"

Something tells me the Knobbers dont rate their development squad.... 🤣

A brilliant cross field pass, left to right, from Mariette to Francis who turns his man inside out and puts the ball in the top left hand corner of the goal.
0-3

Seems the knobbers expected this defeat at the hands of a better team....

"Men against boys this."
"Good display to date by the boys against men....Should build experience & confidence & not take to heart if the men prevail"
"I know this game is not important, but it would be nice to beat them"
"0-2 An adult barging past children in the box at a corner"

But the best today...."Hey mongo, I know you’re reading. I couldn’t give less of a shit about our development squad in truth. But it’s more the fact you’ve played 6 first teamers against a bunch of kids, nothing to do with not rating them....... 🤔.......🤣

I mean, he's not wrong, is he?

Your original comment was very silly. I don't even know any of the North End players other than that lad Best.

Blackpool playing a few Championship standard players.

Well we normally play dev squad players and today have put a load of first team squad in so they are right. We'd say the same if they put first team squad guys out against our dev players.

Barrow played a strong side against our dev squad the other week, teams do it from time to time to get the fitness.

Tbh it'll only benefit the nobber youngsters and our youngsters, to play against or with better players is a good way to improve.

Sounds like the 3rd goal was just development players though.

No Gary, the only posts you ever read or comment on are the one's that mention Preston...That's why!!
Not that you or "Over the line" are Knobbers pretending to be Pool supporters.... 🤔

Now let the 0 - 3 loss sink in
Don't worry, the future's bright....the future's Tangerine!!!!

I have never once pretended to be a Blackpool supporter. I had a relative involved at the club for a few years and now have a vested interest in the club as a result.

You were only playing against our young kids . You had a lot of experienced pros playing like Carey men v boys if that gives you lot a buzz we had a 16 year old playing .
There's nearly always a discussion pre-match in these matches so it won't have come as a surprise to the Preston coaching staff and clearly they made the decision to play a young team.
Last season Preston chose to play an experienced team against a very inexperienced Blackpool team.

I'm not sure we have any Championship standard players. We were relegated.
You know why we went down!

And several players were deemed good enough cos they are playing there now. Yates Bowler Anderson Patino Poveda.

I'd say some who stayed here are good enough too.

Just few thoughts about today.
We certainly fielded a far more experienced team than the Nobbers.
Interestingly if you look at the EFL squad lists Preston only have 9 U21 contracted players (Norwich have 37). We have 22.
Critch must have ruled the roost on team selection because started with a back three (Opowale, Ekpiteta & Tharme).
Dobbie put his foot down over the WBs though as Lyons & Thompson played on their natural sides.
The mid-field 3 was Mariette, Oakley-Boothe & Carey.
Oakley-Boothe is one of those players you never seem to notice. He did OK, I think.
Up front was Dembele and Beesley.
Stand out performer for me was Luke Mariette who does blow hot and cold and today was a hot day. On today's performance he's certainly the equal of the players that we have brought in from other Academies. (I'd love to know what Critch thinks).
Disappointing performances from Thompson & Beesley although not through any lack of effort.
Dembele is a bundle of tricks but I think at the moment he might be best used as an impact sub.
Overall I wouldn't be rushing to change last Saturdays starting 11.
Springfield is the Nobbers Academy training ground and the pitch was excellent.
However its very much lacking in facilities. Blackpool's subs had to stand all match whereas benches were provided for the home subs.
At HT the home side retired to the comfort of the changing rooms whereas the Blackpool squad had to stand at the side of the pitch.
So despite their lofty position in the Championship they're really still a bit tinpot.

Tinpot having 2 training facilities that are better than Squires gate, proper tinpot
