Norwich v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 08.05.23

A free for all on and off the pitch with boozy antics the order of the day. Loads of goals with not a jot of meaning to any of them. A veil will be drawn over this sorry season and we move on to pastures new. To regroup and reinvent.

We will probs win this 3-0 or something, and it'll show us what we were capable of, and hurt us even more because it'll leave us with the thought of what if we got rid of MM, MA earlier.

I’ve never been.

Result wise, I think it’s up to the players. How much pride do they want to finish the season with?

I hope Dobbie finishes on an upward trajectory. He deserves it and we’ve been more entertaining already under his watch.

UTP and enjoy it everyone.

11 days between the last 2 games of the season, when already relegated. Excuse me for having somewhere between little and zero interest in this one!!

Hopefully we do enough to not finish bottom of the league, even tho we theoretically are without points deductions, and that everyone who goes has a good day/weekend.

Went to this fixture in 1973 or 74 , travelled from Wisbech where I was working, took ages.
We lost 2-1 which is my prediction for today.
Remember Glynn James marking their forward Boyer who seemed to have the ability to hang in the air.
Didn't wear colours but escorted back to the railway station after the match with the few away supporters who did.
Took ages to get back to Wisbech but it was all worth it.

My prediction is no goals today as we play them on Monday.

I guess it’s a difficult one for the players, some will want to show what they can do for us, or other interested clubs, some will think, as there’s nothing to play for, I’d like to avoid injury so I can enjoy my summer holidays.

I remember going to Norwich on the supporters club coach in august 1969 . We left at midnight Friday , and arrived about 7am in Norwich . Some Pool fans had painted the Carrow road pitch overnight so we were constantly stopped by the police to check whether we had paint on our hands or clothes! We lost 2-1 with Fred Pickering notching his first goal for us . Then on to Great Yarmouth for the evening, back on the coach for another overnight 7 hours back to Bloomfield rd Sunday morning .Must have been exhausting 2nights without sleep but it’s amazing what a teenager can cope with .

One person who won't be going is Kenny Dougal who will be arriving in Australia when his team mates are arriving at Carrow Rd.

Room with a view. Just watching the pitch getting marked. Weather perfect, pitch perfect, Blackpool fans all in great spirit. Dozens here last night that we saw.

*Edit. Won't let me download pictures.

Unless any of the loans or out-of-contract players sign, 7 out of the starting team won't be at Blackpool next season.
