Norwich v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 08.05.23

You haven’t listed anything. You even said he tore League One up, which he didn’t and ended up not being in the squad and being miles behind Keshi and Embleton in the pecking order.
I've listed it to you before remember?

Why should I keep doing it when you clearly can't understand what he has done or praise him when he does do something good.

This thread isn't about CJ, yet whenever you're involved it turns into a CJ bashing thread.

Give it Dobbie and get him a good number 2.Rogers back on loan Jerry for another season and I’d be confident of promotion.
Jerry won't drop to L1 at this stage of his career unless he's no options at a higher level. But he will have.

I know we stayed up comfortably last season, but the end of season game couldn't have been more different this season than the one at Peterborough last season. A really professional job today when our players could've been on their holidays (especially as many of them are loanees), along with some youngsters given some experience.
It really would be a brave decision now by Simon to ignore Dobbie. In fact, I'd say it's an absolute no brainer - shown a lot of promise with, let's not forget, a squad still decimated by injuries. To go to Norwich and win without Yates and Keshi is excellent and it would be a hugely popular appointment I think. If he wants to get the fans back onside and create a buzz for next season....
The good thing about this win is it helps building positive momentum, rightly or wrongly some took Mansford going as positive.

Appoint Dobbie, another huge positive.

New Sporting Director, its a fresh start.

Get the ticket prices right and fill the stadium now.

A huge well done to Dobbs, his coaches, every player & our very noisey supporters.
Every player played their part today, gave everything & clearly wanted to win for Dobbs & our travelling supporters.
Great to see Shane back & Josh with his magic boots on.
Thanks to all the loan players & good luck with your futures.
I'm not telling SS who he should pick to be his club manager, but Dobbs must be in with a good chance.

Fans celebrating at Deepdale at getting into the playoffs.
Unfortunately for the Nobbers the team wear Red 🤣🤣🤣🤣
fair play to him, he literally couldn’t have done anymore with this squad
Since he’s been appointed the progress has been clear in every game, even when we’ve lost. If he doesn’t get the job there’s every chance he’s caught the eye of other clubs and we might lose him altogether.

;) Well done Dobbie and the boys today.

Ps is it me or was that subtle shithousery from Preston today… hammered at home by Sunderland at the expense of a rovers play off place

im not against it but the feeling i get is this is a moment for complete rebuild of everything.Identify the way we want to play first of all and if Dobbie fits that then great but if he doesnt go out and find the man for the job.

Stephen Dobbie. - 6 games, 3 wins, 3 losses, 9 points. Also won our last 2 away games given we hadn’t won away since October. Give him the job. Make it make sense
west brom two mistakes cost us, millwall the same, both games we were at least as good if not the better team. Luton have been one of the form teams but even though they beat us well we looked significantly better that game than we had for a while

I loved Mr Dobbie when he played for us. I think I would like him even more as our manager.
He is now 40 years old. No longer a spring chicken, but mature enough to handle the players and has a dynamism we have been lacking all season.

If we do not give him his chance, we could lose him to another club and Mr Sadler could rue that for the rest of his days.
It just feels right, Mr Sadler. It would be a clear reset. The possible up-side is huge, the down-side minimal. Give him the whole summer to plan. Frankly, I think it’s the lowest risk gamble possible for you right now.

i have to say that was one of our best performances of the season, we looked dangerous going forward, solid defensively, and the team played as a team. a pretty much treadbare squad.

you just have to wonder if that level of organisation had been in play from the outset.
And Dobbs has still had the same injury problems as the other well experienced managers, in other words he’s managed extremely well with the limited players he’s had available and that tells a story in it’s own right!

simply organised the team, played players in positions they were relatively comfortable in. got them to work together. If we were in the champs next year i would say possibly a different head coach, but insist on Dobbie being part of the coaching team so there is continuity, but in league 1 i think hes perfect for the job

He has also had Jerry out for half his games.

Apter just needs to change that attitude from inside info I believe he stomps around when doesn’t get minutes a lot of growing up to do had a good 10 mins today
I don't have a problem with that it shows he's confident in his ability and desperately wants to play. He looked very good with the ball at his feet and not overawed by the opposition. A shame he didn't tuck that chance away when he ran with the ball from inside his own half. This pre-season is make or break for him he really needs to establish himself in the first team and get his career on track.

How many Pool today?
Chatting to some Norwich fans on the train back to north Norfolk and they reckon about 750-800. Also said we were very noisy & impressed with Bowler & Rogers. They are not happy with their Board & fear getting humped next season by the Tractor Boys.

The loanees were exceptional today. Bowler had his best game since he rejoined us and Fiorini, Patino and Rodgers were class. Shout out to Nelson and Thorniley who have been solid whenever called upon. Really hope Dobbie gets the manager’s job next season – he seems to be a very good fit!

Here's another look at CJ's 'lucky' chance.

According to @SeasideKurt

"He dribbled the ball, directly into their players and got a lucky deflection to go through, watch it back. It's Sunday league shit. Awful."

Ive just watched it back many times. Nothing lucky about it, he did exactly what he wanted to do.

If that's Josh Bowler people are creaming themselves over it.
