We didn't have Lavery last time in league one. But I do agree with your point, we still need to replace Yates particularly.Last time in league 1 we had Yates, Madine, Simms & Lavery ( lethal at best ) hope I’m wrong tho
Madine was frequently called shite by some, while Simms played less than half the season and took some time to really get going.Last time in league 1 we had Yates, Madine, Simms & Lavery ( lethal at best ) hope I’m wrong tho
We havnt seen ex Swansea lad yetMadine was frequently called shite by some, while Simms played less than half the season and took some time to really get going.
We only remember the highlights of each player.
We do still need another, but maybe a loanee of the ilk of Simms might be the answer rather than a permanent.
Also Yates took 10/11 games to score a goal didn’t he?Madine was frequently called shite by some, while Simms played less than half the season and took some time to really get going.

50/1 to be top scorer in League 1Watch Lavery yesterday at Barrow the lad is going to tear a good one in this league certain starter.
I also remember Simms getting pelters for his first 4 or 5 games. He was called lazy, cumbersome, a downgrade on big Gaz.Madine was frequently called shite by some, while Simms played less than half the season and took some time to really get going.

Wow I just saw that.50/1 to be top scorer in League 1
Beesley is nowhere near good enough. Also Yates took 10/11 games to score a goal didn’t he?
I think we’re in a good place. We still likely have Madine for the second half of the season and I’d be surprised if we don’t bring in another forward before August 5th
Lavery, Joseph and Beesley will all likely get 10-15 goals each.
What we need is another 20-30 from midfield / out wide.
KouassiThere are 2 weeks to go and as yet we have not seen Joseph or Kouassi. I'm sure we have a few targets in talks and possibly waiting on a loan or 2 also. Keep the faith, we are in for a good season.
We didn’t have Simms until January eitherWe didn't have Lavery last time in league one. But I do agree with your point, we still need to replace Yates particularly.
He was definitely rubbish at first. We had to learn to play to his strengths and he had a lot to learn to.I also remember Simms getting pelters for his first 4 or 5 games. He was called lazy, cumbersome, a downgrade on big Gaz.
He only really kicked in right at the end of his spell and of course those two semi finals where he monstered them.
Think we need both a perm and loanee. As it stands an injury in that department will probably cost points.Madine was frequently called shite by some, while Simms played less than half the season and took some time to really get going.

I rarely take anything from pre-season, but hearing The Wasp is fully fit and still retains that goalscoring instinct is fantastic news.Watch Lavery yesterday at Barrow the lad is going to tear a good one in this league certain starter.
Writing a player off before you've even seen him? I'm not expecting him to start but he's been brought in for a reason. You can scoff, whereas I'll give the lad a chance.Kouassi
On what basis is he nowhere near good enough? What qualifies you to make that judgement? Critchley and the coaches and the recruitment team brought him to the club for Championship football and in the few Championship games he played he managed a few goals. We’re now in League 1 with the same manager that deemed him good enough for football in the League above so surely the logic suggests he’s good enough enough for this level at least.Beesley is nowhere near good enough.
Lavery is first choice with possibly Joseph, if they can find him??
I’d say we need 2 more forwards
I've already had mine. After reading all the expert comments I'm going to have a bet on promotion
Wanna bet on that?(20 at best).Lavery is going to score 30 plus. Far too good for League One.
Phew, at least he's confirmed to do well now.Beesley is nowhere near good enough.

I think the goals will come from a number of players including Lavery.50/1 to be top scorer in League 1

Go on I will bite..I think we are still 4-5 quality players short and whilst we have a decent first 11 we haven’t got sufficient strength in depth…off the top of my head Derby will have a much stronger squad than we have but there are others aswell…I hope we still strengthen but fear we wontI think we have a strong squad of players, and if there's a better squad in L1, I'd love to know who has that squad. We do need a striker though - not to replace Yates, as I think Joseph fills that role, but to replace Madine. Loan or permanent would suffice for me provided that the player has the necessary qualities, in terms of holding the ball up, being good in the air, and having a high nuisance value generally. That will enable us to adapt starting line-ups, formations etc as required - and it WILL be required at some point.
A mate and myself had a lump on CJ at the Swindon Covid game when he got his 2nd then he just turned into a lump.....Wow I just saw that.
I’ve just gone £10 E/w. So if in the top 4 goalscorers I’m well in.
Joseph is the same odds but we’ve not seen him yet.
If Shayne stays fit, we know Critch likes his play from first time around in the Championship
