Not good news about Joseph..

Do our medicals consist of guessing how many fingers the medic holds up in front of player. This has been a curse since we signed Mel Holden who died shortly after having been found to have MND.

Add to that. Bridcutt out for months. Charlie Goode played a few never to be seen again Beesley out for 9 months. Grant ward out for months. Gabriel was out for a good few months. Lavery was out quite a while. Trybull out for months. Fiorini was out for months. Poveda was out of the squad a lot. Will Blackpool heirarchy ever learn
Oh feck yes I forgot about sick note Bridcutt and Ward how silly of me.

I put Beesley in another bracket being it was a break wasn’t it as shit happens sometimes.

Perhaps let’s give the medical team the benefit of the doubt and consider this scenario:

He came to us, was fit and the medical showed no concerns. He was injured during the cup game at Derby. We are now feeling disappointed and short up front.
So just come out and say that. It's not hard, doesn't cost anything and God knows fans may well sympathise.

Fans are naturally interested in a player who is possibly up there as one of the most exp. signings ever made by us.

Oh dear, appears my original post has fallen foul of the moderators. Apparently you’re only allowed to say nasty things about Blackpool FC, its staff and its owner!

Anyway, hopefully without the bad word I’m allowed to remind everyone of this …
You can remind who you want of what you want I won’t be offended trust me I’ve had years of it but I’m old enough just to except it just no need to come out with the vulgar words next time.

Gald we didn't sing that injury prone Bishop thought. Seriously though, how are we turning down Bishop and selling Yates who is anything but injury prone to bring somone in that is literally injured. 😂
He's injured - not 'literally' injured

The worst-run club in the league.

Of course I am, that’s why I rely on highly educated and intelligent people people like yourself to educate me with informed, succinct and useful replies. Such as the one above.
You are thick.

1) The media team can only pass on information given to them. If the club are keeping the information about Joseph private they can’t do anything about that.

2. If the club released statements about every rumour/story/made up bollocks that is posted on this site or social media then they would be doing so every 5 minutes. Rather than blame the club have a hard look at yourself. The club don’t need to share every piece of information and you are certainly not entitled to a constant flood of information and explanations. Grow the fuck up.

3. You are thick as fuck

He came to us carrying an injury.
I wonder to what extent though.

Otherwise, why take on an injured player unless it was a case of:

‘Right, he’s a young player with a decent fitness track record. At the moment he’s just played around 40 league games and he’s carrying a thigh strain’.

He got over it, then went and got clattered during a cup game.

I don’t know. Seems we are just shit out of luck with these freak injuries.

Would love to see Gabriel back.

As ever, the Reactionary Internet Bullshit Factory kicks in, in the absence of proper communication from the Club.
You are making the assumption that there is anything to communicate. If the club had to commincate with the fanbase every time that someone on a message board posted a rumour, they would need a media team of dozens.

The point is Kerry that the club shouldn't need to react to anything. When the lad signed a simple 'The lad has joined but won't be able to take part in training as he's got a slight X which will rule him out for X time.'

Followed by-

'So Neil, how's it looking on the injury front?'

'Yeah Jordy G remains out for the foreseeable and KJay has regrettably picked up another knock, which is really unlucky for the lad just when he' was over the last one, but we'll assess and see when we can get him back on the grass'.

No need for the media team to reach for the media manual and start at page 1.

Honestly it doesn't have to be hard, yet they call a stupid meeting knowing it will be counterproductive.

The club should say fuck all.
I actually found it quite embarrassing when they put out a statement saying Critchley wasn't going over to Saudi with SG.

Because of social media us fans have become obsessed wanting to know every last thing NOW it never used to be like this being football follower.

Well it was bad enough to stop him taking part in any of the preseason training and games, so pretty bad I imagine.

We just read what was printed in the gazette/Green/Pink in the old days.

Gabriel is due back soon, Critchley said he was back running on grass 2 weeks before the start of the season. I think it was being aimed for him to be back early September.

30 minutes then 4 month out injured again

Why would Swansea want Yates when they had Joseph as striker? Because Joseph is injury prone?
Maybe because Yates is a proven Championship goalscorer !! Joseph played 41 games last season , I wouldn't call that
injury prone.

Why do we always seem to sign injury prone players need to subject them to a stricter medical?
Arsenal signed Jurrien Timber for 38M and he did his ACL after only one and a half games! Watching the World Athletic Championships and you see athletes braking down with muscle injuries during races. Football has become faster and more intense it pushes the body to the limit. These things happen and it is just bad luck.

Good point. You could meet a fan of almost any football club and they will have a similar ‘case of total bad luck’ injury story for you.

Stretchered off with a bad ankle injury when on loan at Oxford last November. Shortly after it was announced he needed an operation on his ankle. Then it was announced that he didn't need an operation on his ankle. Crafty Swansea

Comes to Blackpool unable to play pre season. Breaks down after 30 minutes v Derby and out injured for 4 months

Incorrect. There was one ankle injury (November 22). The operation talk was during this injury. He returned after this, in jan/feb, and played the rest of the season.

Yep my mistake. I've corrected it
It’s still misleading. It’s hardly crafty if he stayed at Oxford the whole season and continued to play once he was back from the injury.

It was also Karl Robinson who said he didn’t need an op, not Swansea. Struggling to find any sort of announcement suggesting he ever did need an op.

To add to this, Oxford apparently tried to buy him in January (whilst injured) and Swansea turned it down.

Incredibly unfortunate if true and if we have serious promotion aspirations he will have to be replaced, short term.

That being said I think we're being a bit hysterical blaming the club and talking of "being had". It was easily our 2nd most impressive signing after Norburn and there would have been serious competition from other league one teams.

No real indication I can see that he's seriously injury prone, the curse continues but I'm sure most other clubs can point to a similar misfortune (they actually produced the stats during one of those fans meetings that showed we were middle of the pack for serious injuries).

Hamstring injury (of course!). Critchley has told Andy Bayes he’ll be out for months rather than weeks.

Long ago I urged a major independent probe into disproportionate injuries.

Few made a similar call, despite many crocks, a big factor in the ultimate drop.

Blind loyalist fans get a club they deserve.
