Not sure Cagu good point thoughIsn’t he cup tied?
Generally the defence were ok but there are moments (similar to in the league) where the defence switch off. I saw two issues:For chrissakes were you actually at the game. We were playing premier team full of internationals. Couldn't keep the ball at times but defence was immense. Kept their shape, won most of their challenges, defence set pieces well, no mistakes and took 2 well constructed goals to beat them. Dare I say 5-2-3 worked well and team well set up by Critch.
Ok fair response. Wood was very street wise. Drifting behind the back line. On the whole I thought they managed him quite well but interesting debateGenerally the defence were ok but there are moments (similar to in the league) where the defence switch off. I saw two issues:
- The defensive line is constantly all over the place. One drops whilst the other two stick. It's rarely in unity and a bit of a mess at times.
- Quite often the defenders don't take responsibility and probably think there are two other centre backs to deal with it. Far too many free headers although granted Chris Woods is very good in box.
This isn't negative, this is sharing observations with the objective being what needs working on.
Wasn’t at the game. Was it four at the back? BBC had it as a 3-4-3Interesting response that’s the good thing about having different opinions just goes to show how us fans see things differently. I thought Connolly had a decent game but others didn’t. One thing l think we can all agree on is that that was a much better performance playing 4 at the back!
YupIsn’t he cup tied?
BBC have it right.Wasn’t at the game. Was it four at the back? BBC had it as a 3-4-3
He would certainly get his crosses inNow that would be a signing
A lower league club? They could have at least used our name.We got a mention on ITV News " a lower league club held a Premier League club to a draw" But only showed Gibbs White Equaliser
They could at least have pointed out that Grimmy usually catches them.A lower league club? They could have at least used our name.
It’s Blackpool Town FC guys
Hi John. Hope you enjoyed the game despite a perhaps a frustrating outcome, what with not wanting a replay and a stubborn defensive display from us second half.Thought it was probably a fair result. Our first half performance had nowhere near the level of intensity required and to be honest we struggle against any team that defends deep. Fair play to Blackpool, you came and gave it a proper go in the first half and were rewarded for it. Guessing you probably ran out of steam a bit for the second half.
Not sure quite how Wood managed to not score at least one...he could've had a hat-trick to be honest.
A replay was probably not what either side wanted to be fair. It'll be interesting to see if it's on telly or not and what difference that will make to the attendance. I imagine we don't have the same pull as some other Prem teams for Blackpool fans, especially as we've played you quite a bit in the last few years. But without wanting to sound like a Leeds fan I'd hope if you don't want blocks of tickets you'll give them to us. Getting a ticket to see Forest can be a nightmare these days for several reasons so it might be the only chance some fans get to go to a game all season.
Correct. Anyone else notice that Dembele didn’t even seem to be sweating when he came off?BBC have it right.
We’ve played 3-4-3 since Dembele became a regular.
Correct. Anyone else notice that Dembele didn’t even seem to be sweating when he came off?
Also- when we made the switch with Sonny and Joseph, did the shape stay the same?
For me it actually worked with 3 up top, Dembele drifting wide and I thought Rhodes worked his socks off.
Since Nuno came in Wood has looked a different player but today he looked very much like the Chris Wood we saw under Steve Cooper unfortunately.Seems like Wood had an off day- as soon as he took that first touch I was expecting the second to make the net bulge but it wasn’t meant to be.
Always be a Dingle in my eyesSince Nuno came in Wood has looked a different player but today he looked very much like the Chris Wood we saw under Steve Cooper unfortunately.
Thanks. Not having seen it that's the first time I've been given a view of Rhodes' contribution.Correct. Anyone else notice that Dembele didn’t even seem to be sweating when he came off?

Yet they committed more fouls!Well done for getting to the replay.
Comment on the ref … biggest home biased ref I’ve seen in along time. How we had 6 booked to their 1 ?
Could and should have been a win. But take that. What about a 2-2 draw?
Yes. Thought he deserved a mention 1966, as I don’t expect as much running from him these days. Was dropping deep to pick up the ball, sent in some clever passes for CJ to run on to and pressing high when he needed to.Thanks. Not having seen it that's the first time I've been given a view of Rhodes' contribution.
We always start well and then the Critchley t
You are one strange person (whether you're a man or woman) give them some credit i know its hard for you but even someone as miserable and glum as you might be able to go from a grin to a smile today. We did ok, nothing special. The defence is all over the place as per the league but we can gloss over that if you want. Yes a draw is good but hardly makes up for our pathetic performances away from home in the league.
Can't they stay at Michelle's hotel and play footy on the beach for a week? What's not to like?
Meaningless game?Just stating a fact. Shall we just forget the fact we can't win away from home against the likes of Burton and Port Vale but celebrate a relatively meaningless game against Forest because we drew. Get real.
Would rather see us do well in the league as would Critchley. Today was just a nice easy free hit without any pressure. Great result but I'd rather we compete against the likes of Port Vale and Burton away from home.Meaningless game?
We are a league one team and have the chance to see our team pit themselves against a premier league team. We have earned that right.
We have now gone and got a draw and earned a replay.
I am gob smacked how any sane person would describe today's game as meaningless.
Smile you miserable sod. You really cant support BFC with what you say - it isn't normal from a supporters perspectiveWould rather see us do well in the league as would Critchley. Today was just a nice easy free hit without any pressure. Great result but I'd rather we compete against the likes of Port Vale and Burton away from home.
lower league serfs. We got a mention on ITV News " a lower league club held a Premier League club to a draw" But only showed Gibbs White Equaliser
The extra income will be useful, we might get something better than a sprinkler system that was our Premier league legacy.Thought it was probably a fair result. Instead of just outside the penalty area.Gabriel's header was Walker-esque. In ten years time, it'll have been from near the half way line.
Possibly. But all your observations are negative ones! Do you ever see the good bits?Generally the defence were ok but there are moments (similar to in the league) where the defence switch off. I saw two issues:
- The defensive line is constantly all over the place. One drops whilst the other two stick. It's rarely in unity and a bit of a mess at times.

And I’d be disappointed and surprised if we can’t/don’t sell out against youThought it was probably a fair result. Our first half performance had nowhere near the level of intensity required and to be honest we struggle against any team that defends deep. Fair play to Blackpool, you came and gave it a proper go in the first half and were rewarded for it. Guessing you probably ran out of steam a bit for the second half.

'... re-sign ...'They can resign Gabriel for 50 mill
Shouldn't we really be able to 'think our way round' the tactically inferior opposition we encounter on a weekly basis in L1? Anyone would think our players simply don't have two brain cells to rub together! Ohhh - then again, saying that ...The trouble is we're playing a side who play a similar system. We don't get teams in L1 like that. As Hertford said we're usually faced with a team of clogged who stifle us.
As well as being a true measure of the 'quality of service' he is receiving from his decidedly 'workmanlike' teammates, perhaps? This game shows me why I'll be amazed if Judders recall Rhodes, he isn't getting a sniff against a decent defence, that not a criticism of Jordan, just a statement of where he is in his career
'He really shouldn't be a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e near this team' - I rather suspect you meant to say.He really shouldn't be near this team.
Or, basically, absolutely anybody you care to mention in place of CJ.So maybe Apter in place of CJ not Dembele
Forgive me for raising the point but, the next time you post, might I suggest you perhaps give the content of any future message you bestow upon us a little more fort ...Great result but would it have been better if they scored first and we fort back?
Surely, competing at this level, unsettled mental functioning ( or, 'Nerves', as t.com: puts it so prosaically, is something which should have absolutely no part to play in the psychological make-up of any paid professional, of whichever sport - least of all football FFS. And, if it really is such a debilitating condition for some (i.e., CJ, bless 'im) might I suggest a couple of courses of action: (i) seek out another livelihood; or, (ii) perhaps think about undergoing brain surgery. Granted, both of them rather radical courses of action. But, from where I'm standing, all I can realistically see is poditive dividends.Nerves
