Nottingham Forest v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 07.01.23

Is there a chance the game may be called off? Seen on sky news Nottingham residents have been told to prepare for evacuation as the river is close to overflowing and the ground is right on the river

They have said that the worst of the floodwaters will reach the river Trent over the next 2 or 3 days as it takes time for all the flood waters to get here. I would be very surprised if it was on.

My mate who lives in West Bridgeford (very close to the ground) says there is no problem at the ground as of yesterday as he cycled there

keep looking at Met Office and footie site bulletins

EA forecast is Nottingham Trent levels past their peak and falling today and through Saturday. Not a lot of rain forecast, looks favourable for match on.

Looking at the pictures the roads don't look good and that will be the main concern- getting people to and from the ground safely.

With our away form, it won’t matter whether it’s Forest or Notts County. I guess we can always hope for the magic of the FA Cup…

Looks like we'll have to bring THE DUCK out of retirement as mascot for this one .
Transport to game leaves Fleetwood docks tonight & drops you right off in the centre circle of Trent Bridge on Sunday

There won't be any issues with the rain, river level is dropping fast and forecast is fine between now and the match. Should be a good atmosphere with a full house.

If I could get a bet on it I would say that ground would be the first to disappear down to Davy Jones locker in the great flood to come.

Could get hammered tomorrow. Or else we win. No in between.

Just been watching that Bromley game again. What the hell has happened to us since that game…not a full strength team, but moving the ball quickly, looking interested and great finishing, solid physical defending. Kouassi and Lavery and Dougall and Marv and Dembele looked super sharp. Can we get back to that please?

We all know we play better against the better teams so maybe Forest will have the same outcome as the Pompey game?

The mass bared arses in Burton’s window springs to mind. You never know though, I suppose 😂

I imagine they will score first and it will all be over.

I always think water polo seems a bit cruel on the horses, surprised its still allowed
🤣
I know. You think they’d just use Hippos or something :)

Anyway, regarding the game… I really can’t see us getting anything, I’m sure we’ll put up a fight for the first half but we won’t have enough to outsmart them.

There’s my ‘let’s focus on the league’ excuse out early 😃

Why is celebrating beating a top of the battle side 'tin pot'? Very weird comment.

We don't play well away from home full stop bar the odd exception. Tomorrow might be one of those but I suspect not.

Free hit for Critchley so he will enjoy it. Then back to the league trying to keep the fans at bay.

What a fine figure of a fan you are! Kinell. 🤦😆

I'd be happy if we started the game with a back four and Marv in there, which tells me I'm fed up with the three at the back. And if we're player a stronger side I want Marv in there defending for his life. Would love to see Kenny start too. Bit concerned that if JR scores it may tip Hudds towards a recall?
