O/T a garage that repairs Minis?

Hi guys

Does anyone know a really good garage that is willing to repair minis? My sons mini that he has only had for 6 months it's an 05, old dear was selling, drove like a dream seemed wonderful. The a few weeks ago had an overheating problem took it to a garage who put a thermostat in. He went to Wigan in it and it seems its blown the cylinder head gasket which nobody seems to want to touch 😕

I'm clueless with cars so need somebody who is reliable and straight but someone who would touch a mini because the guy I use for services etc doesn't do that sort of work and his contacts don't want to know
 
Have you tried the Disney Store? You have? Oh well looks like you're Donald Ducked.

Have to tried Lloyds so you know what you're up against? Then go elsewhere.

Get a second opinion on the HG unless it's obviously mixing oil and water/creamy under the oil cap/very steamy etc...

If he's driven it hot he could have warped the head, BMWs are made of cheese, it'll need skimming if so, don't let anyone just swap the gasket without checking, they should skim it anyway but plenty don't bother.

Failing that Daggers Hall Lane garage are spot on.

Thanks FY8 I've had a private message and a mechanic they recommended is coming to see it on Monday and that seems the plan. Maybe we can save it

My sons got a Mini Cooper s, had a service and coil pack last week which went the night before, we use west coast on Preston old road for all our cars. Honest and good 👍🏽

JB garage at kirkham are great with minis, if you go there you’re best asking for Jason, he’s just imported from South Africa around 18 albeit old models, he’s made a great profit due to the weather not rotting them but in general he loves working on them & the older the better, he’s not the cheapest but definitely worth getting a price as he knows them inside out

Those “early”minis are notorious for getting air locks and overheating . As said make sure you get someone who knows their shit on minis before expensive HG work . Good luck 👍
 
My youngest daughter has an 05 cooper. She loves it. Hope they can save your boys car Lee. They’re a cheap fun car to drive around.
 
Thanks guys for all the suggestions I've spoken with the first guy exile mentioned and he is taking a look on Monday sounds like there's a chance with it.
This is the 2nd one he bought one without me looking at it a year ago that got him through his test and then lasted about a month he was broken hearted when we had to scrap it and lost about £800 which was a tough lesson. This one drove like new, I thought it seemed a minter, older lady owned it etc can't believe this one has only lasted 7 months so fingers crossed we can repair it as he absolutely loves it
