Going to Florida in April for two weeks, doing all the normal parks etc.
anyone know of any hidden gems/must do’s including restaurants

Last time I went to Florida we stayed in a place called Treasure Island (honest) it was a quiet place with great beaches ,a nice place to chill out and watch dolphins.

We've stayed on Treasure Island a few times, great place, but it's about a 2 hour drive from Orlando if you are wanting to do the parks. For a chill out it's fantastic.

Isn't there now a 4th water park in Orlando?

We went years ago when there was 3 and they were great.

My favourite park was Busch Gardens in Tampa.

Last time we went to Florida as a family we stayed in a place called Homosassa Springs.
North from there was a place called Crystal River, that's where we swam with the Manatees.
Weird looking creatures but gentle as hell.
We were lucky enough to swim with a cow and calf (we wasn't allowed to touch the calf though)

Forget all that swimming with dolphins shite (that are in captivity)
Get to crystal springs and swim with genuinely free Floridian creatures.
One of the best things I've ever done.

We are doing that this year on our 7th trip.

If it's your first time in the parks and you want to get on as many rides as possible then get there early. The first few days are the easiest because of the time difference. Nothing worse than queuing up in 90 degree heat!! Fastpasses and good planning how to use them help massively.

Places to eat....there's loads and you won't go wrong with steakhouses. Can recommend the cheesecake factory near Mall at Millenia for a huge slice of cheesecake to take back to your hotel!!

Best burgers are Burger fi sells quality beef burger and good craft ales also try Arby's best for Beef sandwiches.

if you dont have kids with you id strongly suggest driving down one of the coasts to the keys.We did both sides some of the beaches in Clearwater and St Petersburg are unbelievable.

We have 2 days in Tampa at the start (Wrestlemania) so May nip to Clearwater.
I haven’t been since 06, but it’s the wife’s first time

Whether they still do the half price after 4pm at Sea World for example I am not sure but it is really worth it as you pack in a great deal for the remaining six hours.
One piece of advice, if you visit Gatorland zoo on the Orange Blossom trail, if you opt to have a photo taken holding a small Alligator approx 2ft, be careful, because when held they tend to pee on you.

Check to see if there are any launches at Cape Canaveral - if there is get yourself over there as they are spectacular - if you get really lucky there may be a night launch.

Disney is ace. Busch Gardens excellent. The water parks best of all. Wet'n'Wild was a particular favourite.

Been to Florida on a number of occasions and never been to wet n wild.
Out of all the theme parks I'd say universal and island of adventure are the best.

W'n'W was one of those parks where I was glad I had a twelve year old with me to egg me on and provide me with an alibi for childishness. Managed to go down one of the switchback rides facing the wrong way, which was mildly terrifying.

Summit plummet was enough for me. Top of the drop had knee length swim shorts on, when I climbed out it felt like I was wearing a thong😳
