Lancs finish day on 414 for 5 at over 4 an over, Jennings 190 no and Balderson 52 no. Croft got 86.
There are not many openers playing better than Jennings. I know he has had a chance in the past but considering how good he is against spin, could he be worth a place on the Pakistan tour in December.
Vilas captain today, not Jennings; perhaps because he is leaving (Vilas)?

Forgot all about it.

Pissing down, freezing outside, what do we need? The climax to the Cricket season.

Yes both Jennings and Wells have had great seasons . . . both averaging over 50 and scoring over 1000 runs.

Crofty as well has had a fantastic season . . they mentioned on commentary that he'd played in every game this season - CC, T20 & 50 over . . quite an achievement and he's done great in all formats.

I think England will have another look at Jennings . . particulary in the sub continent against spin.

I think Jennings was only captain in the 50 over cup . . Vilas has been captain in the CC all season mate 👍 🌹

Bloody cold at OT today

Vilas is club captain- He got injured before the first LDV Trophy 50 over match so Jennings became captain for the comp and Vilas, being the great guy he is didnt see the need for change.
Once he got a hand injury min the 3rd (?) T20 Blast match he has not taken the gloves again. I have an inkling (not inside info) that Vilas might want to move on, but will hopefully do another season to lead us to all three trophies.

Now that Allott no longer has the purse strings, hopefully Crofty will be offered a contract 'of sorts' for next season.

If I am as happy about BFC at the end of season with the moments that Lancs have created this season, we will be staying up!
HANTS meanwhile are following ECB instructions to do their best to keep Edgbaston CCC from being relegated.

What a stuffing of a 1st day for Slurrie the unbeaten Champions

Well lads from the South Thames this is the future

Never been a Jennings fan but I'll eat my words he's been incredibly good in all formats this season. Dominating even.

He's 30 and seems to be maturing into a fine batsman with age. Without doubt he has to be considered for a return to opening for the test side.

Agreed . . . he's now leading run scorer in the CC and has done really well in all comps. In a season when we probably all thought Bohannon would be our star batsman it has been Jennings and Wells scoring all the runs . . . Crofty too.

I'll say the same about Crofty. I know he's a Blackpool lad but I thought his days at the top level were over but how wrong can you be? Arguably he's been our player of the season.

If Crofty can stay fit then there seems no reason he cannot carry on for another 3 or 4 years. As you say his form is sensational.

Yep . . . Darren Stevens is nearly a decade older than him and still playing. Crofty is still pretty agile in the field so I reckon a good few years left in him and he seems to be getting better.

I see crofty now and again, he's always running, but then again I am behind shouting for an autograph.

Same with me up until this season. I've always been frustrated by Jennings, esp in the T20 where he often looked like it was essential to play himself irrespective of the stateof the game. then just score at steady rate. Finals Day 2018 being a case in point when he hit 51 off 40 coming in at 5
Scorecard shows how much stronger we are now mind...
This season he and Wells have been brilliant for each other. As and when Vilas moves on he will rightly become captain - so hats off to him for improving his game - and looking like he is really enjoying his cricket too. The ECB will of course be considering offering a central (non-playing but not allowed to play for Lancs) contract.

Gutted for Balderstone this morning. Not sure why Bailey played the yahooo shot, but then again Balderstone went for the glory shot for 100!

Anyone noticed how lazy Sky's coverage of the counties has become? Think I've seen the speed gun for one game (50 over final) and T20 finals day, they don't even bother for the rest. Strangely not the same for the 100.

Interesting day and two sessions to come,if Lancashire win,Warwicks and Gloucester win Lancs finish second and the Yorkies are relegated.

Now, wouldn't that be nice.

On my Sky Sports Mix feed Surrey are stuck on 8-0.. actually 147-7. So it look like Surrey will go all season without a loss. The records will show
W8 D5 A1*

* (Absolutely battered by the best county in all forms of the game this season)

Meanwhile, You're-Shite are 182-8 needing 59 to win, but it looks like the Edgbaston CC and NotaNoBallshire are likely to draw.

And yet only three teams have more
Too many draws. More batting points would have led to more wins, you'd think. And with those the title.

Still a fantastic win and only 1 defeat all season- same as Surrey.

Hopefully build on this for next season with maybe an addition or 2 and you'd think Lancs could go 2 places better.

Anderson possibly Jennings and who are the other 3 or four?
My guess is that Bohannon, Balderston, Mahmood & Bell will all play for England in test cricket in the future.

Anderson & Jennings will play this year.

Buttler, Livingstone, Salt, Wood, Mahmood, Gleeson & Parkinson will continue to play white ball cricket for England . . l also think Hartley will break into the England white ball side.

We have the strongest squad in the country 👍 🌹

There are rumours of Vilas leaving as his family live in London , in which case Jennings will probably take over as skipper with Bohannan as a stand in if he is called up by England next summer , I`m sure Jennings will be on the tour to Pakistan as a minimum . Hopefully Hassan Ali will sign again and be available for a longer period as he is out of favour a bit with Pakistan. He seemed to enjoy his stay here earlier in the season.

Well I hope you are right but if you are it will leave a rather large hole in Lancashire`s team.

Having said that I think you would have to be appointed as England`s sole selector to make all those predictions come true.

It's hard to have a better season than that and win nothing. Looking like being 2nd in every competition - even the Hundred jokers finished second!

I just hope they push the boat out for TOP CLASS overseas players as we're so close to dominating domestic cricket. The club undoubtedly have the budget for it.

In the white ball comps we were left with a massive hole this year but we filled it and got to the final in both T20 & 50 over.

At least these days when we lose a player we replace with a better one . . Salt for Davies for example.

With lots of young talent coming through the ranks it certainly looks a Rosy future 🌹
