Hassan Ali is the Kevin Stewart of cricket. definitely a talent in there but so injury prone. He left us early as he trod on a football in the warm-up (I think) So if he comes back and is as good as McGrath, we'd be ok.
 
If ever there was a case for keeping 4 day Championship cricket, this was it. I went to the first 2 days at Edgbaston and Warwickshire hadn’t a prayer at the end of the second day. Incredible stuff.
 
ECB statement:
Erratum notice: Previously, it was announced that Lancashire should be deducted 12 points, with 6 suspended. After a audit review of the papers, it has emerged that there was no intention to suspend half the points deduction. Further, there was a transponding of numbers in the original decision in that the imposed penalty should have been 21 points not twelve. However, in the interest of fair play, Lancashire will only be deducted 12 points this season. The 9 points, will of course be applied at the start of next season

Great news. The "Clean Slate" ground now in the second division. Don't mind Yorkshire but as soon as they changed ground name they can fuck off and take the knee with rainbow armbands on.
 
So, just a quick sign off from cricket posts to thank all the Tangerine cricket fans that I've enjoyed the season with.
- Great banter
- No back sniping as oft happens on a forum (esp this one!)
- The good use of out grounds that made me reallse how many Pool fans like cricket, esp at Stanley Park and oddly the One Day Cup final too. (Edgbaston for the T20 is Old Trafford West Mids)
- Great season by the club and team. Player of the season - Crofty (he was given a 3 match deal!)
- Fave moment of the season... Hmmm, "Norwood traps Abass LBW, Yorkshire are relegated."

Onward and trophies next season. Meanwhile, Vince is probably on the phone to his nanny, "its not fair - I tried to cheat to win - it worked last time..."

That’s Cricket for ya, and Crofty definitely player of season.
 
Finishing second ( in spite of a six point deduction this season) will net Lancs prize money if £390k, rather than £145k for third.
