O/T NEW BLOG: If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?

That many different brewers about now I wouldn't be able to name a particular brewery or choice. But if there's a blonde on in any pub I go in then that's my choice. I notice you tend to go for the much darker choices which have to admit doesn't suit my tastebuds.

On the Boddingtons theme…

What if the delicious beer you’ve committed to for the rest of your life suddenly becomes crap?

Or disappear completely? Like Hartleys did. Subsumed by a “brewery” like Robinsons.

Sorry. I know the op was meant to be light hearted but I’ve known too many good beers disappear forever 😭 😭 😭

Currently into Vocation Life & Death Classic IPA. Mainly cans but is my pint of choice if in Society in Manchester, which is well worth a visit

Ah pre 80's when you had a pint of Boddies and the bottom didn't fall out of your world, the world fell out off your bottom.
That was Jennings.

And the reason, I discovered, was that they used to add Epsom salts.

This was probably because the vat was open at the top. With pigeons lined up to add that extra special tang.

Is Bods crap everywhere now then? Not had a pint in ages, last one was The Shovels in Hambleton on a work thing, it was decent.

Seeing as cask Boddingtons is no longer available it would be lost in IKEA by nightjar (brewed in Hebden Bridge)

If you have never tried it give it a go in your micropub if it's on 👌👌

You an ale man 20s? If so, what?
going back to the 70's and early 80's Bods, Tetleys and Thwaites were always a good pint. Must admit liked Matthew Brown too. Couldn't stand Higsons and all the other big breweries stuff. Now, I'm a regular visitor to Cask and always have the various blondes they do in there. Otherwise like Wainwrights and Black Sheep. As said earlier tend to avoid the darker beers as they are too strong and I can't drink anywhere near as I could. Also , generally speaking they are just not to my taste. Find a lot of them a bit sweet.
