Just seen the news about Critchley, been watching the Jubilee all day, wow absolutely shocked. I did say last year he would lucky if he makes it to Christmas.

I think in the long it will suite both parties. He is a great guy and will always have my heart as one of the great Blackpool managers, especially for getting us back to the Championship. However to me he reminded me a bit of Grayson. They both were great managers to get us promoted but they weren’t the people to retain our Championship status going forward in the long time and in the future. To me that has shown in the last couple of games towards the end of the season, especially losing at Preston, against Derby and that 5-1 unacceptable defeat at Peterborough.

To me there are many managers that we could now go and get, but what worries me is the squad. Who is going to be our Number 1 keeper, will Keogh, Madine, Bowler and Yates be on the way out? If I was a Pool player now receiving todays news, I would be very, very worried instead!

Sean Dyche
Michael Jackson
Ian Evatt
Gareth Ainsworth
Daniel Farke

We have about as much chance of Daniel Farke as I have of taking the girl in the stripey dress out for a lovely Chinese all you can eat buffet.

We have an owner who said he wants entertaining football, an owner who is a fan, an owner who has invested heavily in not only buying the club, but spent heavily on infrastructure, funding the club during the pandemic and now intends to spend a further £30 million on the training ground and east stand. He’s also appointed an experienced board and I’m quite sure we can trust him and them to make the right appointment.

Darrell Clarke?
Gareth Taylor (ex Wales striker, was city youth manager, now city women’s manager)
Marc bridge-Wilkinson
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Mike Garrity step up

I sort of agree with those names. I don't think SS will want a manager with a big ego who'll come in and want money to spend I think it will be a case of the job is yours if you can work with this squad.

Experience and continuity required, lots of good people in place at our club, we dont want big changes but a change in style of play will follow.
Simon will have to back the new manager in the transfer market. Step forward Tony Mowbray who did a very good job at Blackburn.

Ian Evett it would see to be a popular choice, not sure he would be my first choice.
I think Mark Warburton would be a good shout, or Tony Mowbray both proven at this level and plenty of experience.
Could take a punt on Gareth Ainsworth, done well at Wycombe on a tiny budget.
Would we try for Karl Robinson again or has he had his chance with us, he may be keener to come as us and Oxford are further apart now in situation.
There are always people like Michael Appleton & Gary Bowyer who will fancy another go without Oyston involvement. Jack Ross anybody?
My choice from out of left field would be Ole Gunner Solsjkear

Fuck me have you been on the sauce?!

Would like to see Micheal Duff from Cheltenham, been there since 2018 and took them to there highest finish.

Ok. Are we beginning to shake off the shock?
I’ve slept on it and it’s easy to accept Critch’s move: prem club, more money, ‘pool ties (?) etc.
I hope we’re looking for someone that fits our Sadler/Mansford vision. A new manager/coach should be tempted by our ideals, current position and potential. Corboran, at Huddersfield, took a year to turn them round. So, why not someone out of the blue Like him? Even someone currently abroad?

I don’t think Evo will come as he is to invested at Bolton also I’m sure I read a quote from him befor Critchley was appointed that he applied for the job and we didn’t reply. Appleton and Bowyer are a definitive no for me, never go back as they say and not good enough. Ainsworth would not be a bad shout and as horrible as it is I can see us looking at Robinson as he ticks all the boxes - whether he would come is another matter. Ultimately I think it will be another up and coming coach with my money on the chap at MK Dons who was apparently in the running for the QPR job - Liam Manning. Good news is that they seem to be cracking on as it’s been reported that there are interviews over the next few days

Feeling quite depressed when dinosaurs like Mick McCarthy and Neil Warnock get a mention.
Massive decision coming up for Simon Sadler. He's got to get it right.

Liam Manning from MK would be my first choice he has got them playing good football . Unfortunately he would cost and with our current focus on facility’s rather than personnel I think it unlikely.
If very limited funds are available for team strengthening attracting a decent manager could prove difficult, hope not .

Joao Sacramento, Jose Mourinho’s former assistant is in tells to take on his first managerial job; it couldn’t be could it?

Nigel Adkins currently out of work since leaving Charlton a few months ago.

A steady hand, plenty of experience at all league levels, wouldn’t cost a fortune & not a fist-pumping badge-patter.

And his name fits the ‘Tangerine Army’ chant, which should surely be a consideration….😉

I wonder if the mantra will change. Will we go for another young, highly thought of guy who is looking for his first management job, or given we need to consolidate and stay in the championship, will they go for experience at this level.

We have to be realistic and Liam Manning could be the best shot as MK Dons are a usurping clusterfuck of a club with zero history and a small fanbase. Mowbray would keep us up BUT plays awful dull football. Mark Warburton would be good but is probably beyond the budget.

Manning would be an exciting choice and plays high press entertaining football with fluid 4231 and 4321 formations...has a great record with a low budget team and you can see most of the MK Dons team being sold on and so much weaker next season. Great time to tempt him and we have money for compensation courtesy of Villa.

Give it Big Sam or Tony Pulis on a one year deal. Bring in a few big lads & get someone on long throws. If they both decline, see if Ian Dowie fancies a return to management.

Can't see Mowbray coming here.
Before he was finally let go by T'Rovers he was saying that he was missing his family in the N/East.
Can see him only taking a nearer to home club.
