O/T The 151st Open Championship

17th a micky mouse hole?
Tell Travis Smyth, great tee shot, one bounce, get in👍🏻
Won't do him any good that brought him back to +6
Just the rest of the course gave him trouble 😉😁

If Fleetwood wins, which I doubt as not a good front runner, he will certainly be the scruffiest golfer to win the Claret jug. And possibly the smallest. Good luck to the lad anyways.

Owt positive to say about the lad🤷
Usually plays better when coming from well off the pace and nearly heroically nabbed the US Open a few years doing just that. If he is well off the pace going into the final 18 I may get aboard the Tommy train.

He's a cracking golfer and in interviews he comes across as a really nice lad.
Irrespective of how he looks I think he has as good a chance as some of the 'top names' out there.
I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if Tommy went onto win

I know there is a lot at stake and they are playing longs holes but Rory’s group have just completed hole 13 in 3 hours 40 minutes. Get a move on.

Fantastic round of golf from Harman, finished with an eagle putt on the last to get to -10

Hope he doesn't make the US Ryder cup team😬 gimmis from 15 feet!!!!

Unbelievable round from Brian Harman indeed. He's already going to take some pegging back. Just frozen rope on every shot. And his putting was just ridiculous. Knocked everything in from 15ft.

Just back from a full day on the course. Tough going even with no rain so tomorrow should be brutal. Not many birdie cheers out there either, seeing as I missed Harmon's round. Level par was good going today for most.

If I was head of the British Tourist Board I'd be campaigning to ban the Open. The weather is generally shit, its the height of summer and they were wearing wooly hats this morning and as for Saturday and Sunday it's horrendous. It's not exactly a one off, I know the weather has been decent some years but its often raining and grim. The watching yanks must be thinking "can't be arsed with that"

July is frequently the wettest month of the year. Go for May or June.

It was crawling with yanks today and they were all loving it. Pleasingly not to much mash potato going on though, most of the nobhead shouts came from the scousers 👍

Aye but today and tomorrow is terrible, that's vision is beaming back to the states

Had a great 2 days there with the wife and youngest daughter, would totally recommend it for entertainment value for anyone thinking of going next year 👍🏼⛳

Troon?
Lovely place but like every other venue you'd have to stay away from the place and travel to it if you're going to spend a couple of days there.

Not necessarily mate, we did the official campsite/village. Was very well organised with entertainment, beer tents, food court and easily walkable to the course 👍🏼

Unfortunately I've not got the red button facility to watch the open😉🤦

I've to watch Dougherty and chums waffle on and spout chite 🤬

It's the biggest and best golf tournament in the world.
GET THE GOLF ON⛳

When we went last year we met loads of Yanks delighted to be there.

Weather update - its not as bad as I thought it would today - so far anyway. Not even raining ATM

The Open is always a good watch but can’t help feeling that this course has been manufactured (maybe not the correct word) a bit too much.

Making the 17th a very Americanised par 3, and moving the order of the course is played (the 18th in this open is normally the 16th hole) so they finish on a par 5 feels a bit more like its set up to make an ‘entertainment’ finish for television.
Americanised??? Have you ever seen the postage stamp at Troon ????

Just a heads up … tickets are available for tomorrow via the ticket resale platform. You just need to sign up for the free One Club membership to access it

leads like that often make the player play badly as it almost feels like it’s yours to lose. Still fancy Rory for a challenge

Harman is doing more and more of those little bounces with his club over the ball before striking it.
I think the lads a little nervous 😬

Weather has been kind to Harman, he was rocking, had it stayed tough I think it would have been game on.
