Owt positive to say about the ladIf Fleetwood wins, which I doubt as not a good front runner, he will certainly be the scruffiest golfer to win the Claret jug. And possibly the smallest. Good luck to the lad anyways.
Usually plays better when coming from well off the pace and nearly heroically nabbed the US Open a few years doing just that. If he is well off the pace going into the final 18 I may get aboard the Tommy train.Owt positive to say about the lad
Harman has to come out backwards then holes the chip for par- that’s how to do itClearly all the crying and whinging has worked and they have graded the bunkers up a bit. Got a feeling it won't help much though

July is frequently the wettest month of the year. Go for May or June.If I was head of the British Tourist Board I'd be campaigning to ban the Open. The weather is generally shit, its the height of summer and they were wearing wooly hats this morning and as for Saturday and Sunday it's horrendous. It's not exactly a one off, I know the weather has been decent some years but its often raining and grim. The watching yanks must be thinking "can't be arsed with that"
It was crawling with yanks today and they were all loving it. Pleasingly not to much mash potato going on though, most of the nobhead shouts came from the scousersIf I was head of the British Tourist Board I'd be campaigning to ban the Open. Aye but today and tomorrow is terrible, that's vision is beaming back to the statesIt was crawling with yanks today and they were all loving it. Pleasingly not to much mash potato going on though, most of the nobhead shouts came from the scousers
Does it not rain in America!!!Aye but today and tomorrow is terrible, that's vision is beaming back to the states
Troon?Had a great 2 days there with the wife and youngest daughter, would totally recommend it for entertainment value for anyone thinking of going next year ️
Aye but they're not wearing woolly hats as wellDoes it not rain in America!!!
Not necessarily mate, we did the official campsite/village. Was very well organised with entertainment, beer tents, food court and easily walkable to the courseTroon?
Lovely place but like every other venue you'd have to stay away from the place and travel to it if you're going to spend a couple of days there.
No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong attireAye but they're not wearing woolly hats as well
Wizzer & Mark are spot on - the American fans absolutely love it….so different from anything they experience back homeAye but today and tomorrow is terrible, that's vision is beaming back to the states
When we went last year we met loads of Yanks delighted to be there. It was crawling with yanks today and they were all loving it. Pleasingly not to much mash potato going on though, most of the nobhead shouts came from the scousers
St Andrews is a bit different to the others though. When we went last year we met loads of Yanks delighted to be there.
Americanised??? Have you ever seen the postage stamp at Troon ????The Open is always a good watch but can’t help feeling that this course has been manufactured (maybe not the correct word) a bit too much.
Making the 17th a very Americanised par 3, and moving the order of the course is played (the 18th in this open is normally the 16th hole) so they finish on a par 5 feels a bit more like its set up to make an ‘entertainment’ finish for television.
What’s wrong with it????This 17th is a joke of a hole, it'll decide the tournament.
But isn'tMcllroy could easily have been -4 for the round after 4 holes
Don't hold your breath, this Harman lad can playBirdies have been common all morning let’s just hope Tommy can pick a few up and the Yank has a shocker.
And could have been -6 after 5But isn't
But isn'tAnd could have been -6 after 5
The only one choking it at the moment is Harman dropped 2 shots in the first 4 holes.I also think Fleetwood will choke with the local pressure
Harmans to lose now especially with 15 & 18 providing could birdie opportunities to comeRory and Tommy certainly back peddling
