Oakley-Boothe gone permanently.

If it’s such a trivial amount give Simon a ring and offer to pay the wages yourself. I’m sure he would be willing to accept.
I think he’ll learn the lesson and moving forward just sign players who carry zero risk like every other club in the football world manages to do so well. We’ll call this a unicorn and move on

That’s the way. When you haven’t got a reasonable answer, toys, pram, wheeeee.

If Dale goes I make that a squad of 22:

Grimshaw
O’Donnell
Chapman
Ekpiteta
Pennington
Connolly
Husband
Gabriel
Lyons
Coulson
Norburn
Morgan
Virtue
Carey
Finnigan
Hamilton
Dembele
Lavery
Rhodes
Beesley
Kouassi
Joseph

Surely at least one more in before the deadline?
Probably been told already but you missed Olly Casey….

My point is calculated risk. It could have paid off but didn’t. I’m not critical of the deal because it’s low risk and you never know in football until after the event.

Hindsight is 20/20, any dickhead can wait until it’s happened then form an opinion but football clubs don’t have the luxury that online hindsight geniuses enjoy.

As with a lot of other things in life you get what you pay for. Occasionally you hit the jackpot but 99% of the time you end up with rubbish. As the old saying goes, buy cheap buy twice. Most players are released for a reason.

The guy has ability but could not force his way into the team. What happens on the training ground is everything.
He looks the sulky type and we don’t want that sort of attitude in this squad. One thing critch seems to be good at is cultivating a good team togetherness. It’s what Holloway was also very good at and it’s a key ingredient for success. 🍊

Im sure he had 'behaviour' issues at Lincoln last year. That's why they weren't interested in signing him for free in the summer.

Always felt like he didn't want to be here and didn't want to put in the "hard miles" to force his way into the team
That about hits the nail on the head.
Shame. We always have high hopes for newcomers. Some just let themselves down and he’s not been the only one.
