Of all the names mentioned

There are only 2 who I would want managing our great club

First choice is Richie Wellens - We should go all out to get him as ticks all the boxes of what I would want

Experience in the football league, plays the right way and has knowledge of the lower leagues, also has Blackpool connections so will get the club.

His son is even a Blackpool fan

Second choice would be Joey Barton also experience in league one and wants his teams to play football, just the personality we need to revitalise the football club

Big few weeks ahead for Sadler

We can't make the wrong choice this time
Not averse to Wellens , You mention 2 , who is your other choice ?

Not averse to Dobbie either , not convinced about Bowyer or going back aka Grayson , Appleton Etc but you never know . Its a tough one SS is never going to please all the fans with his next choice of manager . There will always be dissenters

Cant understand going for wild Halifax and Barrow fail to inspire me
He’s done a decent job under a restricted budget at each and got the respective teams punching above their weight. Whether that’s enough or not may be down to personal opinion.

Wellens is an interesting one
Remember Charlie Adams getting a red after he tackled him at bloomers , crowd reaction 🥴

Not sure if he will think is he bigger than the club 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dobbie is my choice , but only he gets a very good assistant with him otherwise no
Lacks experience, but a few on here are saying , that won’t matter, well it will actually

I like Rooney , but pigs will fly lol

I have it on good authority that Robbie Fowler is interested. He’s really keen on re-establishing himself in British football after spells overseas turning basket cases into league winners. With a net worth now nearing £50m he would be able to bring a partner investment into the mix and create a unique owner/manager model. His business acumen has been well-proven. His reputation as one of the hardest workers in his football career would play well to any squad and will go down well with the North Stand. He lives in Caldy.

With Graham Le Saux as his number two? Nah.

He’s not appeared in the betting yet, now you’ve mentioned it, I’ve no doubt he’ll be favourite tomorrow

The answer is Dobbie anyone saying otherwise is overthinking. Besides I've added his name to my spellchecker now so that pretty much seals the deal.

Wellens is my first choice and I’d be happy with Barton as well.

My worry with Dobbie is a 6 game gig with no pressure is a whole different ball game to a full season in L1 with new players and not a bunch of pissed off players with a point to prove after mismanagement from the last manager especially and worrying about their futures not just here but football careers on a whole for the ones out of contract etc.

Not for me

He's done a great job in the short term but is lacking the experience needed

Does he know players in league one?
When Grayson took over from Hendry he had no managerial experience. In his first term he kept us up then he hired Tony Parkes, got lots of new players in and got us promoted to the Championship for the first time in 29 years.
Sometimes you've got to take a risk.
Of course, Karl did it because he was the cheap option.

Wellens was a good player for us and let everyone know about it even Steve McMahon said he should be playing in the Championship! He put in something like 8 transfer requests when he was here. Joey Barton the pseudo-intellectual thug has zero chance of even being considered and th O/P knows that he just likes throwing a little hand grenade into the room.

Stephen Dobbie has a better Championship record than either of them if you want to manipulate the statistics. Pete Wild has the experience of doing well at two different clubs with a small budget so I can see why he is in the running. I am intrigued by the Spanish bloke Narcis Pelach he would be a bit left-field but has been a coach for 12 years and worked under Corboran. Sometimes the most unlikely appointments turn out to be the best.

What experience does Wellens have at L1 level though. His career so far is incredibly patchy. For every success there’s a failure.
Joey Barton ??? Fits your contrary style and he’s a massive tit.

Barton's a complete firework.

Joey Barton is a capital C word, I would not want him near our club.

Shit! I've been releasing rats up there that I've caught in the garden 🫣
On the corner by Rafa's mansion. Nothing personal, I just wanted to give them room to roam 🐀

What they can’t do is give it Dobbie in a month or so then pretend “he was always out first choice”
If it’s Dobbie it needs to be next week. If it’s Wellens, Wild etc then week after at the latest.
Then hit the ground running retention and recruitment wise

And whilst whoever it is is a gamble to some extent, Barton is a nailed on disaster at some point. Not saying he’s not a good coach and bright, but at some point it’ll boil over in a big way

We can't afford a divisive appointment. Barton would be exactly that. There would be as many unhappy with it as happy.

We need a united fanbase like we saw over that last half dozen games, even if it was too late.

For that reason, Wellens or Dobbie for me.
Remember when Wellens played for us. He was mercurial. Great one day, garbage and lazy the next - and he got a ton of shit from fans at home, because i was there and saw it.
Just remember the saying, A STRANGER IS A FRIEND YOU HAVEN'T MET..
Not every appointment has to be an ex player.

He had no pressure at those jobs, with us he will be expected to get promotion.

Always Tangerine’s link to The Standard article shows that Wellens has the right stuff when it comes to management duties. We overlooked him in the past, just as we did Evatt and Edwards/Kyle. Richie’s building something at Orient, like Evo is at Bolton, and it’s another boat we’ve missed. I sincerely hope the owner doesn’t make the same mistake with regard to Dobs. Yes, he’ll need a mentor/foil, and we’ve collectively discussed the possibilities in that direction already, but the bottom line is that he’s the man that matches the hour.

Dobs will be aware of the ongoing process before he was given the gig and who's to say they could be looking for an experienced man behind him or vice versa?

Has Fergusson Jr been mentioned? Didn’t realise until last night that the Posh job was only short term to end of season.

He’s not everyone’s cup of tea (and not mine) but he might be looking for a different challenge? Don’t think the wait has been to see how it pans out with them in the playoffs? That said I don’t think his name has been anywhere with the bookies - but what do they know??!!

I still would prefer to see Dobbie given the chance.

Yeah sorry, I should have posted this in the Friday joke thread 😎

I think Roy Kent needs to be considered. Wouldn't help our poor disciplinary record but would get the most out of our players. Ex England and Chelsea player too so has seen a lot.

(Sorry if you have never seen Ted Lasso)
