Didn't work out that bad for Liverpool, when they ruled the league.Yep and I also don't get all this shoehorning coaches into other roles
Appoint a decent manager and let him bring in his own back room team
Simple really
Yes! The only manager who can communicate with his eyebrows from the other side of the pitchI kinda think all appointments listed are gonna be divisive.
Unless we get someone like ancelotti!
And 'lunatic' tattooed on the other.Barton would be a fantastic appointment only one slight issue though , I believe he got a Fleetwood Town tattoo on his right bum cheek
And he’d be stubbing out cigarette butts on the U18 squad players! And 'lunatic' tattooed on the other.
If this ignorant thug turned up, I think that would be me out of here until he got sacked (which wouldn't be far down the line).Second choice would be Joey Barton also experience in league one and wants his teams to play football, just the personality we need to revitalise the football club
Critchley was lucky that the fans were watching on TV rather than giving him pelters from the West. Was it one win in seven or something
I haven't checked
I just know we looked very under prepared for league one football
Critchley was lucky in that when he made poor signings he was allowed to sign better replacements
Ethan Robson and MJ Williams spring to mind as being poor and then being replaced by Dougall and Stewart during the same season
Critchley had a hell of a lot more backing than Appleton was ever given
What on earth are you on about you are the one trying to cause another argumentJesus. Give it up man.
He was, it's a lesson on patience though.Critchley was lucky that the fans were watching on TV rather than giving him pelters from the West.
You try to cause an argument every time you start a thread mate. Joey Barton FFS!What on earth are you on about you are the one trying to cause another argument
Critchley had an awful start that's a fact
I am not even sure it is the divisive element that concerns me, because there are very few managers that will unite everyone, It is the volatility you get with Joey that would worry me. After the last 12 months and the boycott years we need some harmony, some good attacking football and maybe a bit more dialogue from the owner. We can't afford a divisive appointment. Barton would be exactly that. There would be as many unhappy with it as happy.
We need a united fanbase like we saw over that last half dozen games, even if it was too late.
For that reason, Wellens or Dobbie for me.
Why?You try to cause an argument every time you start a thread mate. Joey Barton FFS!
It's the style of football thoughI'm not sure I'd want Barton, there's an awful lot of baggage there and we certainly don't need another appointment that would divide the fanbase.
Would Wellens come here, he's just got a team promoted to League 1, will he not want to continue the journey at Orient?
I've warmed to Dobbie, despite his inexperience, they've all got to start somewhere.
I don't know enough about Wild to make a judgement.
I still think Paul Simpson would be worth a look, especially if Carlisle don't get promoted.
Going back to Gary Bowyer, would seem like Grayson/Appleton all over again, we shouldn't be going back when we can go forward.
That's fair enough Phil, the last thing anyone surely wants is a return to the style (or lack of style) that McCarthy played, although I fear we will come up against teams in League 1 that play more that way than in The Championship. It's the style of football though
Wellens, Dobbie and Barton all play the right way I'm not sure Simo, Wild and Bowyer do if I'm honest
I don't want to go back to anything like the style McCarthy played
Barton link has no substance. Same lads who posted on Twitter said Sadler was looking to sell and would make statement in February announcing that the club was for saleFirst choice Dobbie , just got a feeling about him.
Second choice Wellens .
barton isn’t right for this club !
Nobody is suggesting Mother ** Theresa. Why?
Plays good football/ball on the ground and has experience in this league with smaller clubs
Knows the league inside out and the players and teams that play it in
You would be a fool to rule him out for a couple of off field issues
It's a football manager we need to get results not Mother ** Terresa
Would Wellens be your first choice had he not played for us?First choice by far is Richie Wellens and id try to do everything that i could to get him. Failing that my second and only other choice would be Dobbie.
Tbf Barton getting it would be fine as he seems to want to play football the right way but i just cant see it happening.
All the other names linked, i wouldnt want any of them and id actually be pretty disappointed if we did get any of them.
Yep, got two different clubs promoted playing great football.Would Wellens be your first choice had he not played for us?
Serious question Phil, how does anyone get experience if no one employs them due to lack of experience? Not for me
He's done a great job in the short term but is lacking the experience needed
Does he know players in league one?
Bloody ell, put this on the wrong thread!
Because the managers he has employed have brought their own men in. Appointing Dobbie would also mean a chance for a new No 2.Posters continue to mention Thommo when these positions need filling but Mr Sadler has overlooked him on several occasions during his tenure. There must be a reason for this?
I wish I had your inside information.I have it on good authority, from a reliable source, that it will be either Dobbie, Bowyer, Wellens, Barton, Alexander, or someone else.
They were probably at school at the same time. Wonder if Thommo wedgied him and took his dinner money?Posters continue to mention Thommo when these positions need filling but Mr Sadler has overlooked him on several occasions during his tenure. There must be a reason for this?
Maybe he simply doesn't want to be a manager?Posters continue to mention Thommo when these positions need filling but Mr Sadler has overlooked him on several occasions during his tenure. There must be a reason for this?
Cant understand going for wild Halifax and Barrow fail to inspire meDobbie or Wild for me. There is something intriguing about a Barton appointment though. I just feel an implosion and chaos would never be far away !
And 'Fisherman's Friend' above the bumholeAnd 'lunatic' tattooed on the other.
