Off Day

After each win I always look at the opponents forums to see what they made of us. As has already been stated other supporters see us as a little club and always expect to beat us. Very disrespectful. What I have also noticed is how rarely the opposition give us credit for how good we are afterwards. It is always a case of their team having an off day. I guess we are all biased, but it is such a miserable attitude. Its no coincidence that all teams are having an off day (including Fulham) when they play Blackpool at the moment.

The odds of all these teams having off days is pretty slim isn't it.

This was the Bristol City side PNE struggled with and a bloke at work said it'll be interesting to see how you lot get on with them.

It was interesting wasn't it.

Worth having a look at the #teamslikeblackpool tag on Twitter. Full of oppo fans throughout the season who think they 'should be beating teams like Blackpool'
I love it. We (and them, in their minds) must assume they are ‘big boys’ but they can’t take it when we give them one (or three yesterday) on the snot box.
Who’s next?

Also very rare you see ‘the opposition were superb, credit to them’ on AVFTT after a Pool defeat.
Correct. I can't ever remember someone posting about how good the opposition was when we lose. Supporters of all clubs only see games one way. I is never about how good an opposition goal is but how badly we defended or how OUR players have underperformed.

The OP is wrong as this site is no different.

Comments on the BBC match report forum are more mixed than usual. Quite a few concede that we were quite good yesterday.
Thinking about teams that have beaten us this season and my thoughts on them, Coventry were good, Huddersfield had 2 good 2nd halves and made most of our errors. At Birmingham and Derby we were bad. Against Cardiff the squad was still lacking a few players and we hadn't found our feet, Cardiff looked one dimensional and horrible and so it has proved to be.
The other defeats we have been OK in even matches and came a close second.
Overall we have been competitive and you can't win em all!

Bristol City have some weird love in with PKE so probably won't give us credit.

Theyre hardly a big club. Only 4 top flight seasons and not fantastic attendances considering the size of Bristol as a city.

Opposition fans comments don't bother me. Only a handful of clubs in this league can say they're a big club. Bristol City ain't one of them

Jeez, just read that our first two goals were against the run of play. OK, if they say so, let 'em think that.
Comedy gold. We'd had some glorious chances before we did score with Bowler's shot at the keeper and the ball from CJ that Madine just failed to connect with.

Coventry won with a dubious at best handball.

Indeed, you can't win 'em all. And I don't mind losing[ I do really] if we've played reasonably well which is the case in a good few matches we've lost. It's those performances against Derby and Brum which were so bad and against not so great teams that are the hardest to take and fathom why we were so bad.

Four points from those two games and we would all be getting a bit giddy but you can always go through every season and find performances like that. Keeping them to a minimum is the key and so far we have done that.

And yet we are still above you in the league 😉

Going back to my original point, League 1 message boards last year were far more generous. Even Sunderland saying "I'm glad they have gone, I don't want to play them again next year". Most of our opposition last year acknowledged what a good side we were. There is more of a meaness and "we are bigger than you so we should always beat you" attitude in the championship.

i didn’t know that pal, why is there a love in with knobbers?

Just, we have 1 game in hand, I still think you'll hit a bad run, all teams do.

You've had a new manager bounce and are pulling some results out at the moment and playing better, so you lot are buzzing.

But it won't last, these things rarely do.

We had our bad run earlier in the season 😉

We had a bad run for about 20 games!!!!

Rubbish, you've pulled a few last minute goals out that have to be credited but 99 times of of 100 don't happen.

Either way you'll hit a side in form soon, certainly in April when we rock up.

Nah I'm not getting carried away were playing well and always seem to come good later in the season but its a tough league and some games are decided on fine margins, which is why you can win some and lose some.

Thats a load of crap you had some good results under Frankie, the shock of us coming up and being ahead of you lead to some of the unhappiness I'm sure.

If you'd have been ahead I bet there wouldn't have been so much unrest.

Yep, I can see the board meeting now……

Getting splattered by us has seemingly galvanised your team and improved you to mediocre since.
Being splattered I would say is a 5-0 plus score line, 2-0 is a good result but not splattered.
Also, given we were 6 points below you with a worse goal difference after you beat us and now you are one point below us with a worse goal difference, if we have been mediocre since, what have ‘pool been? 😉

Still to play you in your biggest game of the season and we all know that poor little PKE aren't exactly famous for turning up when it matters.

It's something to do with a final day of the season. Not sure if pke went up or of Bristol City went up and there was this mass love in about it. I've posted on a general footy forum for over 20 years and always see it mentioned between the two clubs when they play each other.

I've always preferred Bristol Rovers anyway😂

Few funny comments on pne online...

No were not, as we told you.

Start of the season it was.... you'll see the difference and struggle. We had that incredibly slow start where we didn't have a RB and had a lot of new players gelling etc.

We had our usual Christmas dip also.

We also played through covid Christmas games and coped with excessive injuries.

We've not done bad considering.

Who said anything about sacking the manager, maybe read the post again and understand it?

I said some of the unhappiness of your fans was no doubt because we were ahead of you.

If we were rooted to the bottom of the table there's no doubt the moans from your lot wouldn't have been as bad.

Someone on their board reckons they can get Marv on a free at the end of the season! 🤣

Interesting that they bought Kalas for 8 million. A player who was a key part of the Czech Republic team in the last Euros. After a roasting by CJ, they are talking about getting rid!

3 games in hand you had,
As the fans said on the day you’re F’kin chit.

I don't fully agree with that. When we lost to Coventry and Huddersfield at home, early in the season I think posters were recognising that we needed to up our game to compete in the Championship.

The unhappiness of the fans had cock all to do with Blackpool. It was down to a poor managerial appointment. that has now been addressed.

Personally, I’m looking forward to April, I hope there is more to the game than just bragging rights. If we both maintain our current form then the top 6 is a possibility.

Yep I had that too. I have had from "you lot will be lucky to stay up" too We have a better team on paper than you." WTF is that all about?
Typical Nobbers.

Of course it added to your woes. The fact your fierce rivals came up and were above an established team on way less budget and also beat you, undoubtedly made many unhappier. The football would still be poor and you'd want the manager gone, but you'd say at least were not struggling like them lot.

Should be a good game, you struggled with Bowler in the first game and he's better now, plus CJ on the other wing is rapid and back into form.

2k pool fans will sound like 5k, anyone who said we make no noise away is in for a shock.

The irony of you posting this on a Blackpool board. Wtf is the Preston message board? Presumably it’s like Deepdale, half empty
