I’m crap at remembering games, but this un sticks in the memory, I think we were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go n lost 3-2. I’m sure somebody with a better memory than me can tell us more?Seasiders at Gillingham in the 91-92 season, when we lost 3-2 to the referee. Note Graham Berry on the right...View attachment 14602

My first son was born in Nov 1983 and I bought him this shirt (yes it was way too big)

Can just picture Steve Hetzke and Colin Greenall, fine shirt Sir
No doubt he'd started to lose weight when he got to 89. It happens you know.My first son was born in Nov 1893 and I bought him this shirt (yes it was way too big)
John May he was very tall 6'5" at a guess I think he was a Blackpool lad too. I was puzzled about the Larry May signing too, typical Oyston promising something and never delivering.I think there was a youth team player in the mid 70's with the surname May who was a defender. Got a feeling he also played a few reserve games but never signed as a professional for Blackpool. Dunno his first name though.
Lordy, I love that strip.2nd attempt the 1978 squad which I still find it difficult to believe got relegated. John May is the tall lad on the right in the back row

Had that kit as a ten year old! Still a favourite kit, lots of memories! Tangerine shorts made it even better, think it paralleled Man City’s home kit at the time, both great kits.Lordy, I love that strip.
I quite like the badge, too. I have only just noticed - after years of looking at this picture - that Mr Brown has a different badge on his blazer!
I seem to remember that when Allan Brown took over as manager he insisted on the players smartening up and wearing club suits (or slacks & blazer) on match day and the badge on the jacket was different to the one on the footy shirts. Said it made them look like a team of professionals rather than a team off the local park.Lordy, I love that strip.

That corner of the ground was exactly the same in 1999.

I wish we had a striker like him in the team now!
What a player, what a shirt

Lincoln has been my local ground for the last 35 years. The terrace we were on that day has been replaced with yhe 5000 seater Coop standHow can Lincoln be over 30 years ago?
I saw King Billy on the pitch appealing to our fans a couple of times; one was at Hartlepool in the rain after a dire defeat and the other time was this nightmare.

I think back then they were simply described as 'pulled muscles' . Whilst we have had more than our fair share this season I doubt our 'training' has.
And we never seemed to get hamstring injuries in those days!
But pulled muscles in those days didn't result in a player being out for months on end. The only long term injury I recall was Tony Green snapping his achilles tendon. Other than that players missed the odd game through injury!I think back then they were simply described as 'pulled muscles' . Whilst we have had more than our fair share this season I doubt our 'training' has
been much different from other clubs. Hopefully just one of those things in a season when everything seems to have gone wrong.
Slim chance but the chap on the left of the picture might be my maternal Grandfather. I know he was involved in one of the stand constructions and I know it wasn't the Kop.The erection of The Scratching Shed (East Paddock) not a pigeon in sight
