Came across this the other day,is the club house the old training ground wooden building.
Leaving the old greyhound stadium was a sad moment for me.The Borough were my first choice in my junior school days perhaps because we lived in Belvere Avenue and therefore easy to get too.

We often used to get in free and occasionally man the score board where you had black wooden slates with the numbers on.Keeping track of the score sometimes proved difficult against the likes of Wigan and St.Helens who Would usually run in cricket scores.
The chairman’s son was at Arnold junior school and we were friends so we also got a chance to mingle with the players. One of the sons sadly got knocked down and killed on Lytham Road one lunch time.
The move to Rigby Road meant being close to the football ground so Especially in the winter months you could watch the Rugby then cross over to BR as KO was usually an hour or half an hour ahead of the football. The Gates by then would Usually be open and you could walk in for free to watch the football though it would normally be the Reserves.
It was the start of my full transition to the football on a regular basis though my Dad would take me to home and the occasional away games before then.
My Dad was there (at Wembley) but can't see on this picture.View attachment 2017
"Newcastle and Blackpool fans mingle in Trafalgar Square before the 1951 FA Cup final"
That team was on ITV4 today playing Chelsea (Stamford Bridge April 1977, 2-2, Spence and Suddaby were the scorers, Mike Summerbee was on the pool bench !!)I didn't start watching the Pool until around '76 because I'm from a non-footballing family; so this is the first team I saw

Given them. That fits seeing as you never been to a game pre 2010 and very few (if any) since.I've got what I would describe as a "collectors hoard" of match programmes. I was given them for free at the end of an auction many years ago. I'll photograph some of them. They came in a box in order.

I've noticed he regularly pops up after you've posted with a less than favourable swipe.Ah my "Barry from Eastenders" lookalike stalker. Give yourself a day off. You are boring.
Hannibal_De_Seaside far left....Far right is Hertford_seasider?Am I allowed to put an away day on here? Torquay 2005. Where are they now?View attachment 2140
Yes, my Dad got me that on the night of Jimmy Armfield's testimonial. You could post it at the ground to your home address, which meant it was worth more because it had been franked. I still have it.View attachment 2192
I found this Souvenir envelope that my Dad bought for me. Not a picture, but I thought it might be of interest to some of you out there!

Blackpool vs. West Ham, 1971. FA Cup 3rd Round.
Blackpool won the game 4 - 0 with Tony Green being the star man. The story goes that Bobby Moore, Brian Dear, Jimmy Greaves, and Clyde Best were all spotted drinking until the early hours the night before.
havent looked through all the pages but photos of the east with seats (not gene kelly) always amaze me
weird eh ??? I saw a photo in a programme once - looked strange!!! Why did they do it ?
That's how I remember them Potts. I was a kid but for anyone with a fat arse they must have been really uncomfortable. Plus full of rain water most of the time.Yeah Stan. Me as well. I think my first ever game towards the end of the 75/6 season, I sat in there. Can't remember much but seem to remember vaguely facing the West so it mustve been. Think they were crap bucket type plastic seats much worse than those in the South or the wooden ones in the West. They were quickly got rid of after one season.
Or cat pissThat's how I remember them Potts. I was a kid but for anyone with a fat arse they must have been really uncomfortable. Plus full of rain water most of the time.
Thats the supporters club on the left. Steps up to Bloomfield bridge.
Still the best thread on this new site.
None of the usual moaning and abuse from the political fanatics in sight! In fact, you don’t even see them on this thread!
Really enjoyable read
You are as dull as a broken record posting the same nonsense every time you post.
