Only one person to blame

Critchley might be a good coach but he has serious shortcomings as a manager. Sends players out with the wrong message away from home - all this 'no easy games', 'teams want to beat the best at home', 'spend time studying oppoments' nonsense when at this level it should just be all about sending a team out to attack and score goals because defenders at this level will always concede but with this team we should be pushing every side and not holding back - under Critch I think we do.

His shortcomings are many. His biggest faults are his steadfast belief that pissing about with the ball for the entire game whilst racking up possession % wins games. It obviously doesn't. We are easy meat for anyone away from home, scramble a shot or have a pop, get a goal and watch us piss about for 80 minutes without a shot on goal, job done. It's regular and tedious.

It's never his fault.

His mega defensive 5-3-2 set up for League 1 battlers is completely ineffective. It may be favoured for academy football but try it against the likes of Burton et al and they'll lap it up.

His answer to going behind is to put on players that should have started in the first place or just folding his arms.

He is giving far, far too much respect to every single team we play. That is plain disrespectful to our own players.

I'm starting to jump off that fence after i went all that way to watch what was a totally inept performace. Ctitchley seems to think that dominating possession of the football means you are pulling the opposition all over the pitch creating space for us to exploit. He doesn't seem to be able to grasp that when we are playing this possession football, it's that slow and laboured it doesn't move a single opposition player out of the position he should be in. So what do we do? Just carry on doing more of the the same. Nothing changed even into those added on six minutes. Just more and more of the same.

Exactly. Their flat footed giants should have been chasing shadows, not stood in their positions congratulating themselves as to how easy it all was. If you haven’t won at home for ages…Critchleys Blackpool as visitors is just the tonic you need. Pedestrian and clueless and no meaningful tactical adjustments by the coach ever.

Still Dembele looks good, but relying on a 20 year old to change the game on his own is poor.

Connolly should never be playing in a back 3. He was at fault again for their goal
If you watch back lots of the goals we’ve conceded in the last two seasons you’ll see Connolly either is on the floor or has his arms up at the ref or liner every single time.

How he’s starting at centre half in a back 3 over Casey or Marv I’ll never know.

I would be having Connolly on the bench. Marv and Casey so much better. I’d also have thomson and Gabriel ahead of Connolly all day long.

I’m starting to lose the buzz, if I didn’t have a season ticket I’d be in no rush to buy a ticket.

If we are going to play this system, we need to play with more tempo as the opposition can easily keep getting 11 men behind the ball.

Connolly shouldn’t be starting.

Norburn who I thought was a great acquisition seems to slow us down.

Why rest better players like Ekpeteta and Dougal plus why isn’t Casey getting a look in.

More importantly why when things aren’t working do we not change things (no plan B).

Frustrated Tangerine.
