It's finally stopped raining and play can start at 2pm in this CC game.

Jimmy plays for Lancs but they have strangely rested Mahmood & Bailey and are playing with two spinners?

After losing a full day yesterday and more rain forecast it's likely to be a draw but with Lancs sitting pretty at the top and only one more group game left we should be OK to progress to Div 1.

Kent won toss and are batting.

I wonder if Jimmy's overs are limited by the ECB. perhaps only 10 next inns.?

-10/1 is a good start (parity for 3 would not have been unacceptable). Davies has delivered parity, now up to the rest to bat them out of the game.

Maybe . . . but his 10 overs were on the spin which is unusual for him. I guess he didn't want to come off.

With Wood and Lamb coming in at 8 & 9 we certainly bat deep so you'd be looking to bat just the once.

As I type Jennings has gone . . need to dig in for a bit. Lancs 67-2

With Northants losing I think we are already through . . . we aren't gonna lose this so will get min. 12 points from this game (8 for draw, 3 bowling points and 1 batting point). We are already 13 points ahead of Northants so they would need to win and us lose to Yorkshire and get a massive swing in bonus points . . not gonna happen.

So it's us & Yorkshire through to Div. 1 and we carry through the points we gained against each other already as we don't play them in the new Div 1. In the home game we scored 501 in the first innings and won by an innings so will have a big advantage. Just need to win again next week.
