Buttler and Salt. Incredible. 82 from 30 balls so far....
Really enjoyed that tonight, Salt and Buttler were simply awesome.
Why would they? All of the major cricketing nation's have their own franchise T20 tournaments. The Hundred is no different other than them tweaking the format. I understand people not liking the format but at the end of the day it's a 16.4 over cricket match. Very little difference to T20.Any other of the worlds cricket countries took on the hundred yet?
Turned the shite off on BBC. Talk about southern bias. It's a ** joke and don't enjoy watching.
The hundred has robbed us of test cricket in August
Devastated for you both.
It's absolutely a triumph of marketing. People bumming it cos it's got people watching! It's on terrestrial telly and you can't move on the BBC without them going on about it and they fire out free tickets left right and centre cos they've chucked shit loads at it. It would be a miracle if there wasn't a full house.
It's a marketing executives idea of sport, the equivalent of coked up pricks saying 'yeah, what about football but with, like 8 players and 3 goals, yeah, with third goal for bonus goals'
It's actually worse than shit.
Shifting text cricket to accommodate this is like pulping the works of Shakespeare to print the Sunday Sport
(I only said the above really cos I though Mac wanted someone to give him the froth and bile he loves to mock - I just ignore it in reality)
Ridiculous. The only reason they came up with the Hundred was because the ECB cocked up, didn't register ie trademark T20, which would have been lucrative with other countries copying the format, so they came up with the new brand which no other country wants. With county players scattered all over cricket supporters have no allegiance to clubs especially if they no where near the major cities.
Not quite a golden one, he managed to survive the first two balls@Raging_Bull I see Roy went for a golden duck again this afternoon......
Nope - I enjoyed it . . just feel it's totally unnecessary. Was I the only one who enjoyed it then
My only gripe is the name of 'our' team.
Shouldn't have been Manchester. Should have been something like North West....
Big crowds in the school summer holidays shock! Have a T20 game on every evening IN August and big crowds will attend especially if broadcast on terrestrial TV. Some big crowds have been turning up for the Metro 50 over competition, which mainly features second eleven players, ( but they are our players) not a mercenary in for his big pay day with no interest in the county team.Ridiculous.
The whole premise of franchise cricket is that there is a game on every evening (2 with the women's game). County cricket does not work in franchise terms due to squads playing other forms and there was already an established T20 county competition.
You say nobody wants it. Meaning you don't like it. But the grounds are full. People are watching it and enjoying it. So get used to it.
The only criticism I have is the Manchester Originals name. It should have been a North West something name. I get that.
Yeah because the Metro 50 gets crowds like The Hundred (rolls eyes).....Big crowds in the school summer holidays shock! No mate. I think it's been fabulous too. But you'll get no change from this lot on here. Was I the only one who enjoyed it then

We already have a fantastic T20 competition so why invent another? It said it would be on 'normal' TV but its only the odd game so that was a lie!!
