They could just rename themselves after the local tribe of Native Americans who inhabited the area before the colonialists kicked them out. Such as the Washington Susquehanna, or the W. Chickahominy or the W. Nanticoke. But that’s still all a bit condescending. I prefer the “Washington Carpetbaggers”.

I think renames for all clubs with the prefix "Reds" should be changed. "Red Devils", "The Red Men"..........LOL!

I’m sure they want Red Wolves but there’s a legal case o/s between x2 other teams.
Red Tails is probably what they will end up with. Naff name aside, it’s got a decent WW2 messsge and they can keep the colour scheme. Can imagine the logo would be quite nice.
They already own the Warriors name so that would be easy.

Its got a bit of gravitas though which is rare for Yankee sporting names

I'm pretty sure the team is from D.C. not Washington state.

The most predatory animal in Washington D.C. is probably a very overweight middle aged white man.
