I'm sure I'll get pelters off many for this and yes, I know there is already a BSM thread, but just when did people start to expect getting freebies or £1 match tickets just because it's a cup game?

The reaction to the £15 ticket price for the quarter final BSM game vs Bolton has bemused me. People saying it should be free or £1 - why?? We are a commercial entity. If that's too much to pay for your personal finances then fair enough, but people can't be expecting handouts.

I would rather see seats occupied than lie empty, don't get me wrong, but the idea that the club will just give them to you is, in some cases deluded, and in others, shows a weird sense of entitlement.

£15 to watch your team (who have just put in a brilliant display against a prem side) play at home in the quarter final of a tournament we've got history with against one of our most bitter rivals. What's really to argue with there?

For reference, Accrington Stanley were charging £20 a ticket vs Bolton in the last round.

It's a business based decision and I can understand it tbh. It's virtually guaranteed that Bolton will bring at least 2k fans, so if you drop the price from £15 to £10, you lose £10k straightaway. And there'll be significantly increased security costs for this.
I generally support the view of lower season tick prices and league matchday prices, because there should be a long term strategic element to those. But really, the difference between £10 and £15 for this game will make hardly any difference to the attendance imo. So with that in mind, why wouldn't we go with £15. It's reasonable I think.

There's nothing wrong with £15 a ticket, keep it the same as the other cup games. If we manage a similar crowd to Forest, we've done alright.

I did Forest but won't be doing this one, just not bothered about the competition and I'm prioritising Charlton and Stevenage. £15 is a good price but but it's always more after travel, food and a few scoops. I'd rather focus on the competitions I find important, there's been a lot of football this month.

What reaction? Where's the negative reaction to the £15?

We had some people discussing what they thought it might be, but that was BEFORE the price was known.

On here at least no one has had a go at the price once it was released, have they?

So is this another pop at the fans thread?

I'm referencing the many replies to the club's announcement on their social media pages, if that's okay?

Edit: And yes, having read the BSM thread, there have been comments there as well also wanting the club to virtually hand tickets out for this game as well 👍

Completely agree… entitled bunch of whingers.
£15 is absolutely fine, in fact it’s more than fine.

There is no announcement on FB I can see at all and I'm not on twitter, so can't see comments. I wouldn't be using twitter comments to judge.

You referenced the thread on here and so I thought I'd missed some reaction on here since the announcement.

Fair enough, and well done on not using Twitter 👍 . It's a cesspit these days.

Just been reading the reaction on Twitter.

You’ve got to laugh. We’re 2 games away from a final, if we get to Wembley they’d have no hesitation in paying for tickets or their day out so they could post it on their socials with a photo of a beer can telling everyone how mad they are 🤢

£15 for live football is more than fair, I think Squires Gate is £8!

The same crew who’ll be questioning Sadlers commitment or the lack of building the new East moaning it’s £5 dearer, which these days is a pint. All probably jumped on the Riga Revolution deal though… which was cheap for an utterly shite product. Those days are gone.

It’s comical what people expect and the Firestick Supporters Club are the worst for it.

If you'd have referenced twitter in the op I would have replied differently, nor to worry. 👍

I used to like to be able to read the comments though and it was annoying when they locked people out of functionality that was there previously.

But it wasn't that worth joining to see them imo.

The proof will be in the pudding if £15 is fine or not when we see ticket sales

For what its worth I'm more inclined to attend this game than i ever was to attend the Forest match

That's a risk that's inherent with every game you buy a ticket for and attend, though. I, like the majority of us, have spent loads on away days in the past only for us to not turn up and end up get turned over. That's football for you.

£15 is ok but my point is more general about our inability to sell out our small stadium

The club has a part to play in trying to market things better, when was the last sell out?

The Premier league season probably

The club made a killing on Wednesday in hospitality. Over 50 quid for a pie and slice of cake. Know somebody who went who was extremely disappointed with it. Wonder what they are doing for Bolton match

The other games have all been a tenner but it is basically a glorified reserves fixture nobody cares about till Wembley, not sure how it’s the same price as the FA cup tie against a premier league team but then again I thought 15 pound for that was more than reasonable

Policing costs I guess, the price is OK but would always do a little better at 10, but most will buy who were going to anyway for this one.

Added security and police quite right to charge the extra fiver.
Stop being so tight you can get fuck all for £15
Bought our Bolton tickets already x

It's on FB as well as X. Plenty saying it should be free. Don't disagree with you about the latter.

Not on mine, goes from the matchworn shirt auction 23 hours ago to the post to to the Bristol Rovers preview post 4 hours ago.

This is the best post I’ve read on here for ages and I salute you !!! Firestick Supporters Club is spot on, loads of them jumping on the club at every opportunity yet contributing fuck all financially to it. Twats

£15 is fine, tenner for season ticket holders to get bums in seats might have helped.

Not having this free or quid a kid bollocks. They’re all in for a shock at the prices if we get to Wembley
