Outstanding fixtures

How is that Accrington, who have played 2 games less than us and 3 less than others, do not have to play a game in the midweek before Christmas? We have to play a rearranged game at Sunderland in the middle of a hectic month of fixtures.

It should be made clear to clubs that if the season finishes on time but if you don’t play all 46 games there is no question of points per game being applied. You simply get nothing for the unplayed games..you can see certain clubs running down the time to play games and then saying they can’t finish the games for player welfare reasons..

I'm not sure if its something I'd never noticed before, but even last season there was a disparity in the matches played between teams. It seemed absolutely ridiculous to me that some teams had played 3 games more than another.

The Sunderland one is a major bug bear - that is astonishing about Accy
Imagine if we get a bad winter, how many of their games will be off?

(caveat to say that at least they have to go to Gillingham before they play us!).

Accy lost at least three fixtures to covid and have a notoriously bad pitch in the latter part of the season.

I always thought that there was some sort of rule that where games were postponed that they had to be rescheduled within a certain time frame. Now, I know the schedule has been pretty much two matches a week for the last couple of months or so but do wonder why they've not been told to re-schedule a match for the 22nd of this month.

That said, it ain't no big deal. It's down to whoever has the responsibility for getting re-arranged fixtures sorted.

They will have a fixture pile up at some point. When it happens is a secondary issue.

If you think L1 is bad, take a look at the National League North.

Sunderland game was rearranged for three months later the it was due to originally be played. There were, at that time, plenty of midweek slots available but I'm guessing Sunderland expected fans in by then but to play Christmas week was bonkers in my view.
